July 2023 Malaysian Vehicle Sales Up 1.7% – MAA

The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) has published the automotive industry's sales figures for July 2023. The Total Industry Volume (TIV) increased by 1.7% to 63,676 in July 2023, surpassing the figures recorded in June 2023. The TIV in June was 62,593 units.

TIV increased in July due to a number of factors, the most important of which are the normalisation of automotive supply chains and the fulfilment of recent bookings for new model launches.

Looking ahead to August 2023, the domestic economic environment remains supportive. Due to the introduction of a few new models as well as National Day promotional campaigns by some car companies, the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) believes that sales will be slightly higher than in July 2023.
