Launched: BMW M2 And iX M60 – RM598,800 And RM630,800

Launched during M4NTAP Festival at SIC were the BMW iX M60 (left) and second-gen BMW M2 (right).
BMW Group Malaysia has expanded its M performance cars range by introducing two new additions, those being the BMW M2 sports coupe and BMW iX M60 performance EV SUV. Both cars were introduced during the M4NTAP Festival 2023 happening this weekend at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC).

Order books for the BMW M2 sports coupe were opened locally since Jan this year. Pictured is the model with the M Pro Package primed.
Starting with arguably the most exciting of the duo, the new second generation M2 (G87) was already opened for orders locally starting from Jan this year.
Powering the M2 is a 3.0-litre in-line 6-cyl twin-turbo mill that punches out 454 HP and 550 NM to drive the rear wheels via an 8-speed sports automatic box, the latter primed further with Active M Differential too. Altogether, this sees 0-100 KM/H despatched in just 4.1 seconds and a V-max of 250 KM/H. Opt for the M Driver’s Package and V-max raises further to 285 KM/H.

At the heart of the M2 is a signature M 3.0-litre in-line 6-cyl (left) with 454 HP and 550 NM. No manual option though, only an 8-speed sports auto (right) instead.
Accompanying performance hardware and tech include Adaptive M Suspension, M Drive Professional system, as well as a set of six-piston M brake calipers up front finished in blue. Matching the latter are double-spoke M light alloy wheels measuring 19- (front) and 20-inches (rear) treated 930 M Bicolour, followed by the presence of M High-gloss Shadowline exterior trim package.
An optional M Pro Package is also available, and this adds an M Carbon Roof, M Lights Shadowline trim package, double-spoke M light allow wheels treated in 930 M Black, as well as the adoption of M Compound Brake with calipers finished in high-gloss red. Altogether, there are five exterior paint options plus three interior colourway choices available for both too.

BMW Curved Display, BMW ConnectedDrive and Connected Package Professional, as well as the BMW Driving Assistant, are all standard equipment in the M2.

Racy cabin bits include carbon fibre trims, as well as M-branded sports seats.
Leading the bill of the M2 as well are things like the latest BMW Curved Display module powered by the new BMW Operating System 8. Other key premium amenities present include a heads-up display, a Harman Kardon premium audio hi-fi suite, Comfort Access System, both the BMW ConnectedDrive and Connected Package Professional suites, as well as a full-swing of BMW Driving Assistant active driver assists.

The second-gen BMW M2 retails for RM598,800, or RM642,800 with the M Pro Package equipped.
As for price, the new BMW M2 commands a base price of RM598,800 sans options and insurance, or RM642,800 with the M Pro Package primed. Included in said figures is a 5-year, unlimited mileage warranty plus free scheduled service package, along with a sleuth of BMW Malaysia’s usual premium after-sales services and privileges.

The new BMW iX M60 stands as the first M-branded performance EV SUV to go sale in Malaysia.
Keen on a more practical and electrified offering? Launched alongside the M2 at SIC this weekend is the new BMW iX M60 – BMW Malaysia’s first M-branded electric performance crossover SUV. Like the sports coupe it debuted alongside locally with, the iX M60 packs both a powertrain and kit list that promises performance unlike any other in this space.
Key to this is the heightened outputs of the dual-motor setup primed on board, which drives all four wheels with 619 HP and 1,100 NM. This, in turn, sees 0-100 KM/H sprints despatched in just 3.8 seconds whilst enroute towards a V-max of 250 KM/H.

Capping off the iX range, the new M60 variant sees its dual-motor setup deliver 619 HP and 1,100 NM, thus enabling 0-100 KM/H in just 3.8 seconds.
Juicing both motors is a 111.5 kWh battery pack which, at full charge, grants a claimed WLTP maximum range of 566 KM – slightly less than the iX xDrive50 Sport’s 630 KM max figure. Besides both 11 kW and 22 kW AC inputs, the iX M60 also accepts ultra-rapid DC charging inputs as high as 195 kW. The latter enables 0-80% recharges in just 35 minutes, instead of 11 hours via AC charging at a rate of 11 kW.
Exclusive to the iX M60 are things like its BMW M Individual 22-inch aerodynamic wheels treated in 1023 bi-colour titanium bronze 3D polished buff, a top-end 30-speaker Bower and Wilkins Diamond surround audio system rated at 1,615 watts, opulently unique Interior Design Suite Amido and the Interior Design Suite Castanea cabin upholstery, as well as in High Gloss Black or Titanium Bronze model badges.

On board, the iX M60 sports a mix of high-tech opulence with a dash of sportiness.
Besides the new BMW Curved Display module, other premium amenities primed on board include quad-zone automatic climate control, both the Driving Assistant Professional and Parking Assistant Professional suites plus a new cruise control with braking function, not forgetting the BMW Live Cockpit Professional suite plus a full swing of BMW connected services.

Now available in Malaysia, the new BMW iX M60 commands RM630,800 sans insurance.
Available in seven colour options including two model-specific special hues plus two interior colourway options, the new BMW iX M60 commands RM630,800. Besides a 5-year, unlimited mileage warranty and free service package, said price also includes a separate 8-year or 160,000 KM EV battery warranty, along with a host of BMW Malaysia’s usual premium after-sales services and privileges.
