The latest-gen Porsche 911 GT3 RS has made landfall in Malaysia!

Porsche Malaysia (Sime Darby Auto Performance – SDAP) has announced the arrival of the manic new Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Launched today at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC), Porsche’s latest performance offering arrives with a host of new and improved performance bits that make it a proper trackday weapon.

Introduced globally in Aug last year, the new GT3 RS based on the eighth-gen (992) 911 model sees it turn things all the way to 11. Key to which is its adoption of dramatically improved aerodynamics over the GT3 model slotted below it, along with significant weight-savings plus a slight power bump.

Porsche's newest trackday weapon sees itself turn things up all the way 11.

As reported prior, the new GT3 RS harnesses the same 4.0-litre naturally-aspirated ‘boxer’ (flat) 6-cyl powerplant as the GT3 model below it, which is mounted at the rear. Primed with new camshafts and tweaked cam profiles, the mill outputs 525 PS (517 HP) and 465 NM, and it revs higher too – all the way up to 9,000 RPM.

Paired exclusively with a signature Porsche 7-speed PDK transmission, the mill propels the GT3 RS’s claimed 1,450 KG kerb weight to despatch 0-100 KM/H in just 3.2 seconds and 0-200 KM/H in just 10.6 seconds before maxing out at 296 KM/H.

The new GT3 RS sports advanced active aerodynamics. it consists of adjustable flaps in the front end and a massive carbon rear wing primed with actuators, the latter sporting an F1-style DRS.

Altogether, the active aero sees the new GT3 RS develop 860 KG of downforce at 285 KM/H - two-fold increase over its 991.2-gen predecessor, in fact.

Besides increased speed, the new 911 GT3 RS also sports active aerodynamics for the first time. It consists of adjustable flaps tucked away underneath the front end, plus a massive carbon fibre rear wing primed with actuators to alter its angle of attack a la a Formula 1-style drag-reduction system (DRS).

The latter active rear wing’s DRS can be triggered via the press of a button on the steering wheel. Moreover, it also doubles up as an airbrake. Altogether, this improved aero suite this 992-gen GT3 RS packs can generate a whopping 860 KG of downforce at 285 KM/H – two-fold increase over its 991.2-gen predecessor.

Also present are uprated active suspension now tuned to match the extreme levels of downforce. Besides that, carbon ceramic brake rotors (PCCB) are available as an option too.

Aside from extreme downforce levels, the new 911 GT3 RS also sees its agility guaranteed through several other hardware present. Notable here are the six-piston (front) and quad-piston (rear) brake calipers grabbing massive 408 MM (front) and 380 MM (rear) brake rotors.

Said rotors can be upgraded with Porsche signature carbon ceramic composites (PCCB) option that’s available. This also entails to the adoption of larger rotors measuring 410 MM (front) and 390 MM (rear) instead.

The 4.0-litre naturally-aspirated flat-6 powerplant mounted at the rear is paired with a 7-speed PDK box, the former outputting 517 HP and 465 NM to allow 0-100 KM/H despatched in just 3.2 seconds.

Elsewhere, the chassis is also primed with a new and uprated electronic active suspension suite. The system has been extensively uprated to keep up with the GT3 RS’s extreme new levels of downforce and speed, and it can be adjusted on the fly via another dedicated knob on the steering wheel too.

In terms of wheels and tyres, the new GT3RS rolls on forged light-alloy wheels with centre-locking that measure 20-inches up front and 21-inches at the rear. These are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber measuring 275/35 (front) and 335/30 (rear).

On board, the GT3 RS gets a host of lightweight goodies all around. The optional Weissach Package adds a carbon fibre roll cage here too.

On board, the new 911 GT3 RS sees its cabin furnished with a pair of carbon fibre seats and a myriad of lightweight trim materials plus a steel roll cage – all part of the standard-equipped Clubsport package.

Furthermore, there’s also an optional Weissach Package that adds more carbon fibre exterior parts, carbon fibre roll cage, CFRP anti-roll bars, rear coupling rods and rear axle shear panel too. This package also gets an uprated PDK transmission primed with race-derived magnet tech for quicker shifts, as well as a swap for forged magnesium wheels.

All in, this new Porsche 911-based trackday weapon commands a starting price of RM2.63 million!

As expected, this serious racecar for the road of sorts created by House Stuttgart commands an equally serious price tag. Orders for the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS can now be placed with SDAP where it starts from RM2,630,000.

Additionally, said price also includes an exclusive and matching Porsche Design chronograph timepiece included. Check out more images of the manic new 992-gen Porsche 911 GT3 RS in the gallery prepared below.
