New Zenvo Aurora Debuts As A 1,850 HP-rated Hybrid V12 Hypercar

The Zenvo Aurora debuts as the marque's new hybrid V12-powered flagship hypercar
Danish boutique marque Zenvo has made a comeback this year by unveiling its latest flagship hypercar, the all-new Zenvo Aurora. Named after the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis), this new hypercar model comes in two variants – a grand tourer named ‘Tur’ and the track-focused ‘Agil’.

Track-focused Zenvo Aurora Agil
Regardless of the variants, the Zenvo Aurora is exclusively powered by a 6.6-litre quad-turbocharged V12 mill provided by Mahle Powertrain. In the Aurora Agil variant, said V12 mill is mated to a single rear-mounted hybrid electric motor to deliver a total system output of 1,450 HP and 1,400 NM. This enables the track-oriented hypercar to blast from nought to 100 KM/H in just 2.5 seconds, en route to its V-max of 365 KM/H.

With up to 1,850 HP, the Zenvo Aurora Tur is one of the fastest production hypercar in the world!
Meanwhile, the all-wheel drive (AWD) Tur variant gets a peppier dual-motor setup that pairs up with said V12 mill to deliver a whopping 1,850 HP and 1,700 NM, blasting this hypercar from nought to 100 KM/H in just 2.3 seconds. Flat out, Zenvo claims that the Aurora Tur can reach its top speed of 451 KM/H – making it one of the fastest production hypercar in the world, on par with the likes of Bugatti Chiron Super Sport and Koenigsegg Jesko.
Both models come standard with a seven-speed transmission with an electric motor that is engaged when the car is reversing. With the Agil being a more track-focused model, it gets a more aggressive gear change mapping compared to the Tur model.

Visually, the Zenvo Aurora stood as an aggressive-looking hypercar, featuring a slew of sharp edges and aggressive aeros that engulfed its carbon fibre monocoque chassis. At the front, the Tur model gets sharp LED headlights that sit above the carbon fibre front bumper with prominent air intake.

More carbon fibres can be seen on its scissor-like doors and side skirts, while its front suspensions are left partially exposed. At the rear, the Aurora comes with an extreme rear diffuser also honed from carbon fibre. Similar to the front, the Aurora's tailgate also gets slim LED taillights.

Meanwhile, the Agil version also gets a slew of additional aero parts such as a larger rear wing, more aggressive front lip and racing canards and many more. In spite of these add-ons, the Agil weighs less than 1,300 KG – making it about 150 KG lighter than the Tur (1,450 KG). Said aero bits also garners the Agil with up to 880 KG of downforce at 250 KM/H speed.

On board, the Tur version gets a slightly more posh cabin design, featuring tan-hued leather upholstery that wraps its bucket seats, steering wheel and several parts of the central console and front dash. Meanwhile, the Aurora Agil sports a more bare-boned cabin design, featuring exposed carbon fibre from its monocoque chassis. In spite of this, both models still get a fully-digital driver’s display, with the car’s infotainment system also integrated in them.

The all-new Zenvo Aurora is set to make its first public appearance on Aug 18 at the ongoing Monterey Car Week 2023. As for pricings, the Danish marque has remained tight-lipped about it, but we can expect it to fetch millions.
