2023 BMW XM Official Malaysian Price Unveiled – from RM1.3 Million

Following the online pre-booking announcement back in Oct last year, BMW Malaysia has finally unveiled the official pricing for the all-new 2023 BMW XM. The luxurious performance SUV originally made its global debut back in Sept 2022, where it became BMW M Division’s first-ever model to feature a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain.

For the Malaysian market, the all-new XM starts at RM1,316,450 on-the-road sans insurance for both variants, namely the Night Gold Line and the Shadow Line. Said figure includes a standard two-year warranty, while opting for the extended five-year warranty plus service package will increase the XM’s price up to RM1,398,800.

For that huge sum of money, customers will be getting a high-powered SUV rated 644 HP and 800 NM, all delivered by the PHEV powertrain combo consisting of a 5.5-litre V8 M TwinPower Turbo mill and a single M HYBRID electric motor juiced by a 25.7-kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
The PHEV powertrain works in tandem with an eight-speed M Steptronic Sport automatic gearbox to propel the XM from nought to 100 KM/H in only 4.3 seconds. Flat out, the XM is capable of reaching a V-max of 270 KM/H, which is made possible by the M Driver’s Package – available by default in any XM SUVs.

Just like any other BMW M models the XM harnesses the marque’s proprietary M xDrive all-wheel-drive system plus an M Sport differential at the rear axle that is linked with the vehicle’s Dynamic Stability Control (DSC). Other M parts primed in the XM are the M suspension system with electronically-controlled dampers, M Sport brakes, as well as the massive 23-inch M light-alloy wheels finished in 923 M bicolour hue.

On a full charge, this PHEV SUV is capable of travelling in all-electric mode for about 80-88 KM, with an electronically-governed top speed of 140 KM/H. As for the charging, the XM supports up to 7.4 kW of AC charging, which will take about 4.25 hours to charge from 0 to 100%.

Both the Malaysian-bound XM Night Gold Line and Shadow Line variants boast an almost identical design specification, with the exterior accents being the only obvious difference between both variants. As the names suggest, the Night Gold Line grants the XM exterior with gold-hued accents, while the Shadow Line swaps the gold hue for black instead.

Other shared features are the M Aerodynamics package, illuminated kidney grille with M badging, as well as the M high-gloss Shadowline exterior trim package.

Inside the XM, BMW manages to offer a rather luxurious cabin space while retaining some M performance parts. The expensive BMW Individual Merino leather upholstery blends well with the M leather steering wheel, M carbon-fibre interior trim finishers, M seat belts, as well as the M front seats in striking a balance between luxury and performance.

The XM is definitely not lacking in the tech department, as it is fitted with the latest BMW Curved Display that combines the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with the bigger 14.9-inch central infotainment display. Powered by BMW OS8, the infotainment system comes standard with smartphone connectivity like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as being integrated with Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system.
Prospective customers can still place a booking for the all-new BMW XM via BMW Malaysia’s official website.
