9-1-2023
Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has announced that there will be two (2) additional electric train services (ETS) for the KL Sentral to Padang Besar route and vice versa for the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration.
This additional train ticket goes on sale today, 9 Jan 2023 (Monday) for all travels from the date 19 Jan 2023 to 24 Jan 2023. These additional ETS will depart from KL Sentral at 5.05pm and arrive at Padang Besar at 10.34pm. The ETS from Padang Besar meanwhile will depart at 11.00am and arrive at KL Sentral at 4.36pm.
With these two additional trains, a total of 630 extra tickets can be sold per day which will bring the total tickets sold to 3,780 tickets including business class coaches. This addition is in anticipation of the foreseen high demand of passengers during the festive season. Furthermore this initiative is to further encourage travellers to use public transport instead of driving should they opt to return to travel during this festive holiday.
KTMB also encourages passengers to obtain their tickets via the KTM Mobile application (KITS) or on the KTMB website www.ktmb.com.my. Both these platforms offer passengers a safe and convenient cashless ticket purchasing option.
