The smart #1 EV SUV is one of the most-anticipated new EV models to make its debut in our market this year, set to arrive in weeks time from now. Ahead of its eventual debut, it seems that the first batch of the #1 has finally arrived here in Malaysia.

It appears that the first batch of the smart #1 has finally arrived in Port Klang this week...

Spotted by one of our insiders in Port Klang, the smart #1’s first batch appears to be a perfect mix of all the variants offered here. From the first spyshot, we can see that several of the models landed here are the range-topping Brabus variant, while others seemed to have arrived in the mid-specced Premium guise.

Moving on to the second spyshot, more Brabus models can be seen here, though the standard variants are still prominent here. Unfortunately, we’ve not been told about the exact units of the #1 that have arrived here, but judging from the two photos, we’re certain it’ll be somewhere around 50 to 100 units of the #1.

While the smart #1 hasn’t exactly been launched into our market yet, orders for this EV SUV model have been opened since last month. Malaysians get three flavours of the #1 to choose from – the baseline smart #1 Pro, the mid-specced Premium, and the range-topping Brabus.

The smart #1 Pro will be the baseline variant for the Malaysian market

Starting with the baseline Pro variant, this model boasts a 49-kWh lithium-ion battery pack that grants it with a maximum WLTP range of 315 KM. Said pack provides the juice to its single, rear-mounted (RWD) electric motor setup that outputs 272 PS (200 kW) and 343 NM. This ‘basic’ model also comes with pretty decent equipment such as 19-inch ‘Amps’ alloy wheels, CyberSpark LED headlights, panoramic halo roof, 12.8-inch central infotainment display, and many more.

Moving on to the mid-specced Premium, it harnesses a bigger and beefire 66-kWh nickel cobalt manganese (NCM) battery pack which garners it with a claimed WLTP range of 440 KM, while being powered by the same RWD motor setup as the Pro model. More importantly, the #1 Premium gets a slew of extra equipment, including the CyberSpark matrix LED headlights, 19-inch ‘Rotor’ alloy wheels, 13-speaker Beats audio system, extended ambient lighting, and many more.

The recently-previewed smart #1 Brabus is the peppiest and most-equipped model of the three

On the other hand, the range-topping #1 Brabus gets the peppiest dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) setup of the three. Rated at 428 PS (315 kW) and 543 NM, this powertrain allows the Brabus to accelerate from 0-100 KM/H in just 3.9 seconds. Harnessing the same battery as the Premium, the Brabus gets a slightly discounted maximum range figure of 400 KM (WLTP).

The smart #1 EV SUV will finally make its official debut soon...

With the smart #1’s first batch has already arrived on our shores and is heading to showrooms and dealerships as we speak, it is safe to say that its official launch is imminent, in-line with the marque’s plan to introduce it some time in Q4 this year. By then we’ll finally get to know the exact price for each variant, as well as all the extra bits and freebies given by smart Malaysia (PRO-NET).

Orders for the smart #1 EV SUV can now be made via the Hello smart mobile app, with all three variants tentatively priced between RM200,000 to RM250,000 on-the-road sans insurance.
