The Pengerang Vocational College in Johor is set to introduce new study programs focusing on automotive technology, particularly hybrid and electric vehicles (EV), with plans to commence operations in 2026. This development aligns with the National Automotive Policy's objectives to promote EV adoption in the country.
Deputy Education Minister Lim Hui Ying revealed that the curriculum at 53 vocational colleges offering automotive technology programs will now incorporate elements of hybrid automotive technology, EV technology, and robotics. This expansion is part of the Ministry's efforts to keep up with technological advancements.

To ensure that Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) graduates meet the evolving job market requirements, the Ministry will continually enhance the curriculum. This includes aligning it with Industry 4.0 by introducing subjects like smart farming and the Internet of Things (IoT) in agricultural programs. Practical training incorporating IoT and AI elements is being integrated into various vocational colleges.
