Tesla Sunway Pyramid Superchargers “Coming Soon” – 4x V3 250 kW Units

After a few months on the market, Tesla Malaysia is already making strides in establishing its devotion to its customers. Although there have been no local model Teslas delivered to date, the Supercharging network rollout is continuing apace.

Seen here is Tesla’s latest Supercharging station soon to be fired up at Sunway Pyramid Mall in the heart of Sunway, Petaling Jaya. From what we can see there are a total of four (4) V3-type Tesla Supercharger units conveniently located right on the ground floor of the mall after you have passed the infamous “Lion’s Head”.

These 250 kW charging units similar to those in Pavillion Mall KL are marked specifically for Tesla vehicle owners only, meaning that these facilities won’t cater for vehicles of other brands.

Part and parcel of Tesla Malaysia’s rapid entrant into our local automotive market is the marque’s commitment of opening 30% of its initial 50 Superchargers to multiple car brands. With the latest Tesla Sunway Pyramid Supercharger limited to Tesla vehicles only, it seems that these 30% multi-brand Superchargers will be located somewhere else.

But then again, we’d reckon that it’s better for all if Tesla Malaysia decides to allocate these 30% to Superchargers located along the main highways instead of destinations like malls or city centres, with such spaces having already been occupied by multiple independent CPOs.
