Isuzu D-Max Enlisted By JPN For Special Orang Asli Missions

JPN's Director General Zamri Bin Misman (fourth from left) receiving one of three D-Max 3.0 AT 4x4s presented to the department by Isuzu Malaysia COO Kenkichi Sogo (third from left).
In their efforts to visit remote Orang Asli villages around the nation for their citizenship registration exercise, it’s almost certain that the National Registry Department (Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara – JPN) has their work cut out for them indeed.
Fortunately, the department got some much needed assistance in the form of three Isuzu D-Max 3.0 4x4 AT pick-up trucks supplied by Isuzu Malaysia recently. The trio of trucks were handed over to JPN Director General Zamri Bin Misman in a small ceremony held in Kuala Rompin, Pahang, earlier today.
“Isuzu’s ability to get the job done has been second to none and we are confident that these new D-Max trucks will be able to serve the needs of JPN in their tasks,” said Kenkichi Sogo, COO of Isuzu Malaysia, who was also present during this ceremony.

Zamri giving his approval after inspecting the three D-Max 3.0 AT 4x4s supplied by Isuzu Malaysia for JPN's missions within the Orang Asli community.
Having underwent a refresh last year, the 3.0-litre AT 4x4 variant of the D-Max features a peppy yet efficient 3.0-litre powertrain that’s mated with an advanced 4x4 driveline primed with a diff-lock, all providing a nearly unrivalled all-terrain, go anywhere capability as a result.
On top of which, the D-Max 3.0 AT 4x4 also boasts water-wading abilities of up to 800 MM, thus making it ideal to traverse streams, rivers, or even flooded roads effortlessly. Indeed, these are mission-critical traits that are poised to assist JPN in their mission with the Orang Asli community.
Moreover, Isuzu Malaysia have also beefed up these three trucks specifically with several key additions not commonly found on the D-Max in showrooms. Highlights include mission-critical gear, namely an electric winch, bull bars, canopy flatbed cover, as well mud terrain tyres.

Unlike the standard model seen in showrooms, the D-Max 3.0 AT 4x4 supplied to JPN feature a bevy of mission-critical additions - snorkel, mud tyres, bull bar, winch, as canopy flatbed cover.
Isuzu Malaysia adds that this trio of D-Max trucks will serve at JPN’s Kuala Mu (Perak), Gua Musang (Kelantan) Kuala Rompin (Pahang) offices. Their primary role will be to move in collaboration with the Jabatan Kemajuan Orang Asli (JAKOA) as they enter remote Orang Asli settlements and register villagers, particularly newborns, within these regions.
By the way, we’ve recently sampled the more ‘basic’ 1.9 4x4 AT Standard variant of the D-Max recently. You can read our thoughts of it by clicking these blue words. You can also watch our video of which by clicking here instead.
