New Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid And Tucson Open For Bookings
HSDM are now accepting bookings for the refreshed Santa Fe (right) and the all-new fourth-gen Tucson (left).
Hyundai Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) have started accepting bookings for both the new fourth generation Hyundai Tucson and face-lifted Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid.
Additionally, both models will debut publicly this weekend when they go on display at the Premium Auto Car Expo (PACE) 2023 event that takes place at the Setia City Convention Centre in Setia Alam on 4 and 5 Nov.
The refreshed Santa Fe will see two Hybrid variants available, plus a range-topping diesel option.
Set to be locally assembled (CKD) at the Inokom plant in Kulim, Kedah, the refreshed Santa Fe 7-seat crossover SUV model will be offered locally in Hybrid form for the first time across two variants (Hybrid Plus and Hybrid Max). On top of which comes a lone diesel-powered range-topper (Diesel Max) too.
The combination of a 1.6-litre TGDi turbocharged petrol 4-cyl heart and an electric motor system sees both hybrid variants offer a total output of 230 PS and 350 NM. In turn, said outputs are tasked with driving the front wheels via a 6-speed automatic.
The lone oil-burner, on the other hand, employs a familiar 2.2-litre CRDi 4-cyl mill instead with 202 PS and 440 NM. Said mill gets paired with an 8-speed DCT automatic instead, as well as an all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup.
Besides seating for up to seven, the refreshed Santa Fe promises a rich list of standard features on board.
All three Santa Fe variants will share plenty of common safety features that includes six airbags, the Hyundai SmartSense active driver assist (ADAS) suite in full-swing, 8-inch infotainment unit offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 12.3-inch digital dash display, and a powered tailgate.
Notably, the range-topping Diesel Max variant will also boast heated and ventilated front seats, along with driver seat memory function added on top of everything else noted.

The new fourth-gen Hyundai Tucson will arrive sporting a striking new look inside and out.
Moving on to the all-new Tucson, this fully imported compact crossover SUV offering boast all-new styling inside and out. Like the larger Santa Fe, the Tucson will also see three variants available featuring two petrol engine choices.
Powering the base 2.0 Lite variant is a 2.0-litre Smartstream MPI 4-cyl powerplant with 156 PS and 192 NM, and its paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The mid-range 1.6T Plus and range-topping 1.6T Max instead share a peppier 1.6-litre Smartstream TGDi 4-cyl turbo heart with 180 PS and 265 NM, and it’s paired with a 7-speed DCT automatic box too.
Notable features primed on board (depending on variant) include heated and ventilated seats, powered tailgate, as well as an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function.
On board, the striking new exterior design gets matched with an equally striking new interior. Highlighting the latter is a wrap-around dash design that houses a button-less centre stack underneath an 8-inch touchscreen display that offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus voice recognition.
All variants get laced with six airbags and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function, along with Blind Spot Collision Warning and Safe Exit Warning. For the range-topping 1.6T Max, the list is bolstered with 8-way heated and ventilated front seats, 10.25-inch fully digital instrument display, power tailgate, wireless smartphone charger, and the Hyundai Smartsense ADAS suite in full-swing.
As present, HSDM has yet to reveal any indication of price just yet, or an official launch date. However, the firm did note that, besides the aforementioned expo taking place this weekend, bookings can also be placed online, or via any authorised Hyundai sales outlets nationwide.
