Vehicle Licence, Driving Licence, Road Tax Can Be Downloaded Via MyJPJ app

According to Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, all drivers and car owners can download their Malaysian Vehicle Licence (e-LKM), Malaysian Driving Licence (e-LMM), and road tax from the MyJPJ app if these documents are requested by enforcement personnel.
The state Transport Minister mentioned that, the documents can be captured via screenshot or printed in hard copy for use if necessary.
This follows the difficulties encountered by Malaysian drivers at the border with Brunei, where authorities demanded hard copy road tax documentation despite the country's switch to an electronic system. He added that he had spoken with Norizan Jili, the state director of the Road Transport Department (JPJ), this morning in response to a number of public comments and inquiries about the introduction of the digital road tax and licence, particularly from individuals who routinely travel between Miri and Brunei. “I have spoken to Norizan and he informed me that the JPJ has never restricted the public from obtaining LKM stickers or LMM documents during this digitalisation transition period.
“In fact, the public can still obtain these documents (LKM & LMM) at nearby JPJ offices,” he said in a statement.
He mentioned that Norizan had spoken with his counterpart in Brunei about the same issue and that, as of now, no cases or actions had been reported regarding the display of a printed copy or a screenshot version of the road tax.
Lee added that he also got in touch with Noni Zurainah Ismail, the Bruneian Consul General in Kuching, who told him that the Ministry of Transport Malaysia had forwarded a letter to the Brunei Ministry of Transport regarding the adoption of digital road tax and driver's licence.
“She said the ministry has taken note of this and that no cases have been reported so far,” he said.
In order to promote more effective interactions between citizens and businesses, the Transport Minister Anthony Loke recently informed the media that comprehensive discussions regarding Malaysia's digital road tax will be held with the Bruneian government. This underscores the importance of having a standardised digital process across borders.
For any enquiries, the public are welcome to contact the JPJ Hotline at 03-2724 2522 or via email at infodigital@jpj.gov.my.
