Zeekr 007 Revealed Ahead of Auto Guangzhou 2023 Debut

New Zeekr 007 EV saloon was revealed ahead of its planned debut at the upcoming Auto Guangzhou
Ahead of its much-anticipated debut at the upcoming Auto Guangzhou 2023, Zeekr has finally unveiled its latest EV saloon model, dubbed as the Zeekr 007. According to Car News China, this Geely-owned EV saloon was revealed to selected Chinese media outlets right before its official presentation at the aforementioned auto show.

Overseeing the design phase of the 007 is the marque’s head of design Stefan Sielaff, who is known for his previous work at several European marques including Audi and Bentley. Unlike other Zeekr EV models, the 007 comes with a new front face design, featuring full-width panels with animated LED graphics on both ends. Said light panels only illuminate when the car is on, where they stay black when the car is off and parked.

Moving to its side part, you can see that the 007 EV sports a pretty sleek sedan body style like we’ve seen on many other modern EV saloons. Its extended greenhouse grants the 007 with an almost fastback-style rear part, while some of the exterior trims are finished in gloss black to contrast with its body colour. From here, you’ll also notice that the 007 gets stylish frameless doors with buttons to open them instead of conventional handles, as well as the stylish multi-spoke 20-inch wheels it rides on.

At the rear, the Zeekr 007 is donned with full-width LED taillight bar plus an illuminated Zeekr lettering placed at the base of its rakish rear windscreen. Aside from the gloss black-hued lower bumper trims, this EV saloon also comes with a unique crosshatch pattern along its rear bumper akin to those we’ve seen on the new Lexus RX.
Underpinning the PMA2+ platform derived from Geely’s proprietary SEA architecture, the Zeekr 007 measures 4,865 MM long, 1,900 MM wide, 1,450 MM tall, with a wheelbase of 2,928 MM – putting it nicely amongst the D-segment EV sedan category. For reference, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 EV measures 4,855 MM long, 1,880 MM wide, 1,495 MM tall, and with a wheelbase of 2,950 MM.

On board, the 007’s futuristic theme lives on, as the EV saloon gets a pretty minimalist and tech-laden cabin – yet another recurring theme in most modern EVs nowadays. For starters, drivers get a full-colour LCD instrument panel, a dedicated heads-up display (HUD), plus a simple two-spoke steering wheel borrowed from the Zeekr X SUV, with its gear selector located behind them.
Floating centrally above the front dash is a sizable, landscape-oriented infotainment screen that houses most of the car’s essential controls, including one for the A/C. This full-integration allows the car’s central console to look cleaner, apart from allowing more space for its wireless charging pad, cubbies and storage compartments.

As for the seats, the front ones come with a pretty bulky side bolstering and headrest, promising a pretty comfy ride for front passengers. Meanwhile, each of the rear seats comes with an individual headrest, plus their own dedicated A/C vents and USB charging ports located at the central tunnel stack.

The Zeekr 007 reportedly will get a single electric motor setup rated at 204 HP and 350 NM
As for its powertrain setup, Car News China reported that the Zeekr 007 will get a single electric motor setup rated at 204 HP and 350 NM, which is good enough to propel this EV sedan from nought to 100 KM/H in 6.5 seconds. However, rumours suggested that the 007 is also available in a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD), which promises a peppier state-of-tune and better performance.
As we mentioned earlier, the 007 underpins SEA-derived PMA2+ platform with an 800-volt battery architecture. No specific details regarding its battery capacity and maximum range were revealed for now, though the automaker claims it can be fully-charged in about 30 minutes.

The all-new Zeekr 007 is set to make its first full debut at the upcoming Auto Guangzhou 2023 motor show, where its main presentation will take place later this week on Nov 17. Set to be tagged at a price range between CNY 200,000 to CNY 250,000 (RM130,000-RM160,000 approx.), the Zeekr 007 is poised to become the brand’s best-seller for the local Chinese market.
