Jaecoo has revealed its brand slogan for the Malaysian market

In case you missed it, our local automotive market is about to get a new contender hailing from the Great Wall nation, cordially known as Jaecoo. Set to make its official market entry with the Jaecoo J7 SUV later in 2024, the Chinese marque has revealed its official brand slogan for the Malaysian market, which reads, “From Classic, Beyond Classic.”

According to Jaecoo’s official statement, the “From Classic” phrase is meant to reflect the industrial foundation that its parent company Chery boasts, with the Chinese automotive firm having decades of experience in the automotive industry. While the brand itself is relatively new, Jaecoo benefits from its parent company’s vast experience in research, development, and manufacturing vehicles, resulting in the innovative All Road Drive Intelligent System (ARDIS) dedicatedly developed by the Chinese marque for the J7 SUV.

Meanwhile, the “Beyond Classic” phrase has always been part of Jaecoo’s philosophy, which reflects the automaker’s pursuit of accommodating intelligent technology. In the case of the J7, Jaecoo has equipped its C-segment SUV with tons of cutting-edge tech bits that help to enhance its cabin. This includes a powerful Qualcomm 8155 processor that provides decent computing power to the car’s 14.8-inch panoramic screen, the head-up display (HUD), and many more.

The Jaecoo J7 C-segment SUV will be the first model brought in by the Chinese automaker in 2024

More importantly, this slogan unveiling also indicates that we’re getting closer to Jaecoo’s official entry into our local market, which is expected to happen some time later in 2024. As we mentioned earlier, the Jaecoo J7 will be the first model to be launched by the automaker, which is set to go against the likes of the Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, Proton X70, as well as the newly-launched sixth-gen Honda CR-V in the competitive C-segment SUV market space.

Jaecoo J7 previewed at the Chery International User Summit 2023

Before the first two units of the J7 landed in Malaysia, we’ve been given the opportunity to size-up this C-SUV at the Chery International User Summit (CIUS) in Wuhu, China, where the left-hand drive (LHD) unit of the J7 was displayed at the show.

Also known as the Chery Tansuo 06 in the Chinese market, the ICE variant of the J7 gets a 1.6-litre 4-cyl turbocharged mill that is mated to a seven-speed DCT to deliver 186 PS and 275 NM. Additionally, the J7 also comes equipped with both the front- (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) options for the international market, with the first two units that've already arrived here boasting the latter setup.
