Malaysia is set to be the first right-hand-drive (RHD) market in the ASEAN region to receive yet another promising offering from China, the Jaecoo J7.
This premium all-rounder off-road SUV was premiered to local press recently, and it’s now being showcased publicly through the Jaecoo Premiere Experience. This showcase kicks-off this weekend at The Waterfront, Desa ParkCity from March 9 to March 17.

After which, the Jaecoo Premiere Experience will also be held at various other locations within the Klang Valley until May, which is when the Jaecoo J7 is expected to officially launch.

The Jaecoo marque has seen immense success from its global roll-out across Eastern Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, and both Central and South America. With its classic looks and clean lines similar to certain British makes, the Jaecoo J7 aims to challenge conventions and raise the bar, as evident in its "From Classic, Beyond Classic" brand philosophy.
"Jaecoo was born out of insights into a rising consumer segment – bold, pioneering, and ambitious individuals. After extensive research and analysis, we believe that JAECOO will resonate with this new unconventional consumer group, whom we refer to as the new urban elite,” says Leo Chen, President of Jaecoo Malaysia.

Chen further notes that the timing for this new product introduction couldn't have been planned any better given up-take for SUV’s and MPV’s in the country sits at an all time high. In 2023, SUVs account for almost 30% in the country’s total passenger vehicle sales.
Previewed earlier this year, the Jaecoo J7 is poised to offer exceptional on and off road driving experience via its all-wheel drive (AWD) system paired with a 1.6-litre 4-cyl turbocharged petrol mill and a seven-speed DCT box.

Powertrain aside, the Jaecoo J7 also sees a rich features list primed with a slew of advanced amenities such as a 540-degree camera, 14.8-inch high-definition media display, and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, among others.
