Launched: Sixth-Gen Honda CR-V – 4 Variants, From RM159,900
New sixth-gen Honda CR-V flagship SUV officially lands in Malaysia today with four variants. Pictured is the range-topping 2.0 e:HEV RS guise.
The wait is over as Honda Malaysia officially launched the new sixth generation Honda CR-V flagship crossover SUV model for the Malaysian market. A total of FOUR variants were revealed today, and the line-up now includes a newly-added 2.0 e:HEV RS hybrid variant too.
All-new from the ground up, the latest-gen CR-V is now a larger-sized vehicle over its predecessor. It sits 4,691 MM long with a 2,701 MM wheelbase, 1,681 MM wide, and 2,701 MM tall. Said figure see both total length and wheelbase stretched by 40 MM and 68 MM respectively.
All-new from the ground up, the sixth-gen Honda CR-V is now much larger than before, but its size growth is masked by its snazzy new styling.
The size growth is masked by a bold and stylish new design aesthetics that feature a unique front grille with mesh pattern insert, all-LED forward and rear lighting plus front LED sequential turn signals and active cornering lights, not forgetting new 17- and 18-inch wheel designs too.
As for the sporty and electrified 2.0 e:HEV RS range-topper, it boasts enhanced aerodynamics thanks to an Active Shutter Grille feature primed in its lower front bumper. This variant is visually sportier inside and out over its stablemates, and it even features lacked-finished 18-inch wheels.
Two powertrain choices are available and it mirrors what's seen in the 11th-gen Civic sedan. The e:HEV hybrid is a new addition to the sixth-gen CR-V.
Predictably, the powertrain packages available mirror what’s seen in the 11th-gen Civic sedan, and both the 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo 4-cyl petrol and 2.0-litre e:HEV hybrid petrol-electric options available. All are paired with CVT automatic boxes plus Honda’s ‘Real Time AWD (All-Wheel-Drive)’ setups.
As for outputs, the hybrid package puts out as high as 184 PS and 335 NM, whilst the non-hybrid package serves up 193 PS and 243 NM instead. Depending on variant, Honda Malaysia touts 7.0 – 7.5 litres/100 KM average fuel economy figures, thus making this one of the most efficient in segment too.
Space on board has grown, especially for rear passengers as they now bask in 15 MM more legroom. The rear seats also boast 8 reclinable positions on top of being able to slide forwards and back.

Boot space has also increased to 589 litres, which can be expanded up to 1,072 litres with the rear seat down. Also present is an improved powered tailgate with walk-away close function.
Predictably, the growth in size sees the sixth-gen CR-V offer a roomier and much comfier cabin, the latter bolstered by all-new aesthetic cabin design laced with premium and plush materials. Both fabric and leather seat upholsteries are available depending on variant.
Key features shared across the board include new 8-way power adjustable driver seat with two-position memory function, new rear seats with 8 reclinable positions and the ability slide forward and back, 9-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android connectivity, wireless charging pad, a powered tailgate, as well as the novel new Honda Connect connectivity suite.
Whilst the 10.2-inch TFT digital instrument display (left) is exclusive to the 2.0 e:HEV RS variant, the 9-inch touchscreen infotainment (right) is standard across the board and offers both Apple and Android connectivity.

Also exclusive to the range-topping hybrid are the Head-Up Display (HUD) (left) and premium 12-speaker Bose hi-fi audio system (right).
Opt of the range-topping 2.0 e:HEV RS variant and the spec cabin is furnished with exclusive features such as black leather seat covers with sporty red contrast stitching, black roof liner, 10.2-inch TFT digital instrument display, Head Up Display (HUD), premium Bose 12-speaker hi-fi audio, as well as a novel and more convenient Smart Key Card.
On the safety front, all variants come standard-equipped with the Honda Sensing active driver assistance (ADAS) package. The suite has been upgraded with enhanced detection through upgraded wide angle radar, camera, and sonar sensors. Depending on variant, there are now a total of NINE active safety features present on top of the usual Honda LaneWatch and 360-degree parking camera.
Standard across the board too in an improved Honda Sensing ADAS suite that primes the sixth-gen CR-V with up to NINE active assists.
Locally assembled (CKD) at Honda Malaysia’s facility in Pagoh, Melaka, the new sixth-gen Honda CR-V commands the following price figures:
2024 HONDA CR-V PRICE:

Additionally, in conjunction with Honda’s 75th anniversary, the baseline S-spec variant will see a special offer price of RM157,900, but only for the first 750 units on a first-come, first-served basis.
Prices for the range-topping 2.0 e:HEV RS variant pictured will be announced early next year (2024). In the meantime, the non-hybrid CR-V variants are priced between RM159,900 and RM181,900.
As for the 2.0 e:HEV RS, Honda Malaysia notes that this range-topper’s price will be revealed early next year (2024). Similar to the Civic 2.0 e:HEV RS model, expect this variant of the new CR-V to include a separate 8-year, unlimited mileage warranty for its lithium-ion hybrid battery added on top of the regular warranty mentioned.
To date, Honda Malaysia has received 2,000 bookings for the new sixth-gen CR-V range since opening up the order books about a month ago. Moving ahead, the firm aims to shift up to 1,000 units monthly of their new flagship crossover SUV offering introduced today.
