Upcoming Liberty Walk Lamborghini Countach Teased – Cool Or Sacrilegious?

Last year, tuners Liberty Walk caused a stir when it showed off a wide-bodied build based on the classic Ferrari F40.
Around the same time last year, renowned – mostly for the wrong reasons – Japanese high-end tuners Liberty Walk caused a stir when it teased renders of its then upcoming new build based on the classic Ferrari F40 supercar.
It caused a stir and divided opinions everywhere, but the firm persisted and showed off the final build for the Tokyo Auto Salon 2023 show. Now, the tuning house looks set to do the same once more, this time with yet another iconic Italian classic.
Teased this week is the brand’s upcoming new Tokyo Auto Salon 2024 show car based on the Lamborghini Countach. Whilst we’ve only been given a mere glimpse of it on Instagram and YouTube by company founder Wataru Kato, there’s much to go on indeed.
The scissor-doored, wedge-shaped, V12-engined supercar is arguably an icon of late 1980s excess. More specifically, Liberty Walk’s new build appears to be based on a later version of the Countach model that came in the mid- to late-1980s –LP5000 Quattrovalvole or 25th Anniversary Edition.

YouTube screengrab showing the radically altered stance and styling of the Countach by Liberty Walk.
The teaser shows this Countach build endowed with a bold white exterior paint which best highlights how the new parts radically alter its style and stance. – much like how it does with Lamborghini’s current crop of sportscar models.
In includes a prominent new front splitter and a lower fascia with a rectangular mesh covering three openings that give the nose a boxier look. There are also canards on either end that integrate into the widened fender flare. Altogether, the result sees a continuous line formed from the nose to the wheel well that creates a curvy element along this section.

Another angle of the Countach build teaser by Liberty Walk showing off the car's heavily altered side profile.
Down the sides, there are broader lower sills running between the widened fenders, plus a newly added opening ahead of the rear wheels. Rolling stock sees Liberty Walk adopt dark-colored, deep-dish Rohana Forged wheels with Y-shaped spokes wrapped in Toyo tyres.
Gone too is the factory rear wing, now replaced with a bigger one mounted beneath the bumper. The rear end also sees flush-mounted taillights replacing the original production version’s inset lamps, whilst a massive new diffuser and quad exhaust further amplifies the motorsport-inspired aesthetic.

Overall, it’s easy to see how Liberty Walk’s latest project will split opinions and cause perhaps an equally huge stir as how its Ferrari F40 build did.
What do you folks reckon then? Is this build brave and cool? Or do you find it rather daft and perhaps sacrilegious? As always, hit the comments below – and our social media pages – with you take on things…
