FREE Rapid KL Bus Service To Batu Caves - Thaipusam
Following Transport Minister YB Anthony Loke's announcement of free rides on KTM Komuter trains on January 24 and 25, Rapid KL has announced that there will be complimentary Rapid KL & MRT feeder bus service to Batu Caves on those days.
According to Rapid KL, three (3) complementary routes would be provided to users, particularly Hindu devotees. Routes BC02 (Bandar Pasar Seni Hub - Batu Caves), BC03 (Gombak LRT Station - Batu Caves), and BC04 (Kg. Batu MRT Station - Batu Caves). These routes would operate non-stop from 5 AM on January 24th to 12 AM on January 26th, with one bus every 10-15 minutes.
Other connecting bus routes would also be made available during extended operating hours on the 24th and 25th of January, beginning at 5.30 AM and ending at 12 midnight. These bus services, however, are not free, and passengers will be charged according to their boarding and alighting locations.
The following routes have extended operating hours: 173 (Lebuh Ampang - Kg. Batu - Batu Caves - Taman Desa), MPS1 (Gombak LRT Station - Batu Caves - Selayang Mutiara), and T201 (Gombak LRT Station - Batu Caves - Wira Damai).
Although Rapid KL has announced the bus frequency, we would advise passengers to be more patient on these two days because the roads leading into and out of Batu Caves are likely to be congested, causing the buses to be delayed.
