MMM Teases ‘New’ Mitsubishi Triton – Last Special Before Next-Gen Model Lands?
Current (read: outgoing) version of the Mitsubishi Triton in range-topping Athlete guise.
Though an all-new generation model has bowed, the outgoing current generation version of the Mitsubishi Triton pick-up truck model is still on sale in some markets – ours included. The existence of these last remaining stocks perhaps explains the latest teaser from Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM).
Earlier today, the firm took to social media (Facebook) with a post teasing an upcoming new special variant of its evergreen 4x4 pick-up truck that’s set to go on sale soon. Whilst the teaser shows us a veiled car, there’s enough visible traits to confirm that it is still based on the current generation version.
Moreover, we can also see hints of this new variant’s special livery on the flatbed’s side panel. The colours of said livery’s graphics indicate this could be similar to the Triton Ralliart special that released in neighbouring Thailand back in Nov 2021 which also features an extensive aerokit added.
Ggiven that much of the truck’s lower half is purposedly shrouded in this teaser, we can also likely expect a similar aerokit primed. Apart from which, MMM didn’t disclose any further details or possible launch date. Nevertheless, we reckon the latter should take place very soon – Q1 or Q2.
Thailand-spec Mitsubishi Triton Ralliart special edition released in late 2021.

Expect the new Triton model teased by MMM to be similar to said Thai-market special stated above.
The new generation Triton model revealed in Thailand in July last year should make landfall in Malaysia after this special – likely within the second half (H2). It also recently garnered a full 5-star ANCAP crash-test rating largely thanks to the full arsenal of active driver assist (ADAS) features it now boasts.
We’ll have more on this final curtain call special edition of the current-gen Triton from MMM once details are made available.
