ChargeSini At Mydin: 9 Locations LIVE, East Coast Still Awaiting Approval
In accordance with the MoU inked between ChargeSini and Mydin Hypermarket, a total of 24 DC charging stations is set to be built by ChargeSini at selected Mydin outlets nationwide.
The move aligns with the CPO’s expansion strategy aimed towards tourist attractions, hotels, restaurants, malls, and condominiums.
Currently, 11 Mydin outlets - which stretch from the southern tip of the Peninsular to the northern tip - are primed with ChargeSini DCFCs. Of these, nine are currently operational, while the other two - Mydin Gong Badak and Mydin Kuala Terengganu - are still pending approval from the Kuala Terengganu City Council (MBKT).
The speed of approval indicates the state's apparent willingness to support the adoption of EVs. Terengganu is also the only state in the country without an active or easily accessible DCFC with the exception of the TNB Electron DCFC at Paka on the East Coast Expressway.
Now let's take a look at all 9 Mydin locations that EV users can now head to and juice up at. Starting down south, the state of Melaka sees three Mydin outlets each houses a dual-nozzle 60 kW DCFC. These Mydin outlets are located at Jasin Bestari, MITC Ayer Keroh and Alor Gajah.
Moving up to Negeri Sembilan, there are two Mydin outlets each equipped with a dual-nozzle 60 kW DCFC. These are Mydin Senawang and Mydin Seremban 2.
The state of Perak meanwhile sees three Mydin outlets now equipped with ChargeSini DCFCs. There is an 80 kW dual-nozzle unit at Mydin Manjoi located along Lorong Pasar. The remaining two Mydin outlets in Perak located at Meru and Gopeng each features a dual-nozzle 60 kW DCFC unit.
Further north in Penang, there is one active dual-nozzle 60 kW DCFC housed at the Mydin Bukit Mertajam. It is also important to note that most ChargeSini DCFCs at Mydin outlets are already built in compliance with the latest fire safety regulation, only pending the supply of the EV fire blanket which will roll out soon.
Additionally, all EV charging bays are furnished with ChargeSini’s automated parking barrier system. Lowering these barriers, which are designed to deter ‘ICEing’, can be done via the ChargeSini app.
Charging rates at all these Mydin outlets are kWh-based at RM1.19/kWh. Users are bound by a RM5 minimum charging fee, 15-minute grace period to relocate their vehicles upon completing their charging sessions, and an idle fee of RM1 levied for each 5-minute block after.
