Meta Bright Group Bhd is set to explore collaboration opportunities with ChargeHere EV Solution Sdn Bhd - country’s largest charge point operator (CPO).

ChargeHere, which operates under the ChargeSini brand, currently has 935 EV charging points spread across more than 400 locations. Of these, 734 are operational and fully approved by the Energy Commission (ST), serving a user base of over 32,000.

These charging stations are strategically located in shopping malls, hotels, and residential condominiums throughout the country.

In a recent statement, Meta Bright emphasized that this potential partnership aligns with its commitment to expanding its portfolio in the energy sector, particularly in EV infrastructure - a critical area of focus under its environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy.

The two companies will also assess commercial and strategic synergies, aiming to combine their strengths in energy solutions and EV technology. This includes the exchange of technical know-how, joint project development, and market entry strategies.

Derek Phang, Meta Bright’s Executive Director of Corporate and Strategic Planning, highlighted the importance of this initiative. “This collaboration marks a significant step in Meta Bright’s diversification into the growing EV charging market,” he said.

“By partnering with ChargeHere, we’re not only enhancing our ESG roadmap but also laying the groundwork for sustainable, recurring revenue streams.”

Phang added that the partnership could unlock various opportunities, including shared technology, infrastructure expansion, and deeper market penetration.

The two parties will begin with a series of preliminary evaluations as part of the MoU to identify high-potential projects and define a robust framework for long-term collaboration. Meta Bright aims to leverage ChargeHere’s established footprint and technical expertise to ensure a successful and impactful entry into the EV charging space.
