LRT-4-full_normal.jpg After being closed for more than a year due to technical difficulties, the LRT track between Masjid Jamek and Bandaraya stations has reopened. By the end of 2024, Rapid Rail anticipates the LRT Ampang/Sri Petaling line to have 200,000 average daily riders.
Following a year-long period of repairs, the Land Public Transport Agency approved the route's reopening based on an evaluation and inspection.

Train frequency is also expected to return to normal, with a wait time of three minutes in the CBD and six minutes outside of the CBD. With 37 trains in service, passengers will no longer need to commute by intercity bus because the lines will reschedule based on timing, connecting to other stations accordingly.
For the record, the route between the Bandaraya Station and the Masjid Jamek Station has been closed since January 27 of last year, for safety reasons because of damage to the viaduct and the nearby tracks.

The damage repair project began on March 17 of last year and was divided into two stages: restoring the damaged structure to its original location and supporting the flyover at P163, P164, and P165.

According to transport minister Anthony Loke, the government, through Prasarana, which manages public commuter lines in the country, will seek approximately RM38 million in compensation from the project developer for the delays.
