This Chocolate F1 Car Is A Tasty Preview Of The Sport’s New 2024 Season

With all the new liveries revealed plus some team name changes announced, the 2024 Formula 1 season is set to unfold in just over a week’s time, with things kicking off in the desert heat of Bahrain from Feb 29.

Ahead of which, perhaps it was only fitting that this writer got a very tasty – all puns intended – reminder of which today thanks to renowned French-Swiss Masterchef and chocolatier Amaury Gichon. 

Renown for his wild chocolate creations, as well as his his role on Masterchef: Dessert Masters, Guichon took to social media not too long ago to show off a miniature F1 racecar that he made entirely out of everyone’s favourite guilty pleasure – chocolate.

Yes, dear readers. What you see is in fact a miniature replica of an F1 racecar made entirely out of chocolate. Indeed, this creations looks as delectable as is it speedy!

Tipping the scales at 58kg, Guichon made this speedy yet tasty homage to the fast-paced sport from scratch. It took the Masterchef no less than seven days to craft the dessert, which involved an intricate process of moulding melted dark chocolate.

Melted chocolate is used to connect the large pieces together and form the racecar’s familiar silhouette and shape. Guichon even sanded down the edge of the pieces to create curves and from detailed parts such as the nosecone and air intakes.

Other tasty – again, all puns rightfully intended – details include life-like seat belt and driver handles, chocolate tyres, not forgetting a very intricate replication of an F1 car’s steering wheel. What’s even more impressive is how spot-on Guichon got with colouring his creation.

Renowned Masterchef and chocolatier Amaury Guichon went the extra mile in making this chocolate homage to F1, even applying its colours just as how real F1 teams do on their cars!

In fact, the latter even saw the Masterchef applying – presumably – food-grade colouring –  onto the chocolate body panels using an airbrush, just as how some teams apply their liveries on their racecars in real life.

Yes, this may not be a life-size replica that can be raced with, but we won’t deny that it is certainly a very delectable treat, especially for any sweet-toothed Formula 1 fan.
