Volvo P1800 Cyan GT - A Restomod That “Simon Templar” Would Approve!

Cyan Racing recently unveiled the Volvo P1800 Cyan GT, which is the firm’s second model from its Limited Production series. For those who are unaware, Cyan Racing was previously known as Polestar before Volvo Cars acquired this performance division and trademark in 2015.
The Volvo P1800 Cyan GT essentially pays homage to the 1960s classic Volvo coupe model popularised by the television series ‘The Saint’. This latest build breaks every classic car enthusiast's rules when it comes to restoration, with each Cyan GT taking roughly 12-15 months to build.

Originally introduced in 2020 as a track-inspired homage dubbed the Volvo P1800 Cyan, this latest GT iteration evolved from which to become a plush grand tourer capable of navigating winding country roads thanks to a custom-designed fully adjustable suspension.

All Cyan GTs adopt a 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbocharged heart and drivetrain based on the Volvo S60 TC1 racing car, which has been refined to prioritise drivability over sheer power.

As a limited-run model, buyers will be able to select from a number of engine configurations ranging from 350 HP to 420 HP. The secret to every Volvo P1800 Cyan GT's performance is its high-strength steel and carbon fibre bodywork weighing less than 1,000 kg.

Furthermore, the Cyan GT's bespoke Holinger gearbox offers drivers a more precise and responsive driving experience. Buyers can also personalise their Cyan GT by choosing any colour, interior seat type, material, and level of sound deadening laced around the cabin.

For added comfort, a modified titanium half-roll cage has been integrated into the vehicle, providing the driver with ease of use whilst maintaining maximum safety standards and chassis rigidity.
Because the Cyan GT is a highly customisable limited production run, no specific prices have been announced. Perhaps it is safe to assume that buyers will need to fork out similar amounts as a comparable Singer Porsche build commands to commission one!
