Wuling Bingo Plus EV Launched In China With 510 KM Range, RM65,000 Price Tag

Wuling recently unveiled the Bingo Plus, an upsized version of the smaller Bingo or BinguoEV as it's known in Indonesia where it's already available. True to Wuling’s nature, the Bingo Plus is a competitively priced offering in the EV SUV space while still retaining commendable range, interior space and advanced safety features.
In China, the Bingo Plus comes in two variants, those being the Flagship which offers a range of 401 KM and Highend Flagship which boasts an impressive 510 KM range. The Flagship is priced at RMB89,800 (RM59,000) while the Highend Flagship commands RMB98,800 (RM65,000).
So far, the Bingo series of vehicles has collectively sold 250,000 units.

In addressing the growing demand for electric vehicles with extended range capabilities, Wuling also developed the Bingo Plus with features like a thermal management system and "smart energy" management tech. With these, the Bingo Plus is capable of achieving an estimated energy consumption average between 10.1-10.6km/kWh, perfect for both urban and long-distance commute.

As for its design, it is pretty much similar to the smaller Bingo albeit up-sized, which is not a bad thing altogether. It still features a modern exterior design and a high-angle windshield. Inside, the design reflects its price and is kept minimalist with two colour options. With the larger wheelbase, the Bingo Plus benefits from a larger interior space and rear seat legroom.
The Bingo Plus sits 4,090 MM long with a 2,610 MM wheelbase, 1,720 MM wide, and 1,575 MM tall. Powering the Bingo plus is a decent 75kW (100HP) motor, which enables the Bingo Plus to clock a 0-50 KM/H sprint in just 3.7 seconds.

It also features three charging modes including DC fast charging, the latter method taking 30-35 minutes to re-charge from 30% to 80%.
Key to the sales of the Bingo line-up is the array of incentives given to buyers in China. Amongst which is exclusive access to Wuling’s 300,000 EV Chargers across the country.

Wuling has also shown interest in entering the Malaysian market as it’s already available in neighbouring countries like Indonesia and Thailand. However, its largest barrier presently is the RM100,000 floor price set by the government, which would entail it being uncompetitively priced against the BYD Dolphin and ORA Goodcat.
