GAC Motor Malaysia makes its official market entry by launching the all-new GAC GS3 Emzoom, priced from RM118,900.
Following its initial preview earlier this year, WTC Automotive (M) Sdn Bhd (WTCA), the official importer and distributor of GAC Motor vehicles in Malaysia, has finally launched its first model, the GAC GS3 Emzoom. This new subcompact SUV crossover contender is available in two fully-imported (CBU) variants, namely the baseline GS3 Emzoom Exclusive and the top-spec GS3 Emzoom Premium R.

On the design front, the GS3 Emzoom stood as a pretty stylish and sporty SUV crossover, featuring sharp and bold design elements in a relatively practical body form. Key design features present on the exterior include the sharp LED laser headlights that flank its vertical front grille, the signature ‘Light Dart’ LED taillights, a roof-mounted rear spoiler, flushed door handles, as well as the standard 18-inch wheels it rides on.

Opting for the range-topping GS3 Emzoom Premium R will grant you both the R Style Sport Package and the R-Style Sport Exhaust, with the former featuring a more prominent aero kit finished in a contrasting hue. Speaking of hue, the GS3 Emzoom is available in four main colourways, namely the signature Salt Lake Blue, Ivory White, Graphene Grey, and Super Star Silver.
Measuring 4,410 MM long (4,446 MM for the Premium R variant), 1,850 MM wide, 1,600 MM tall, and a wheelbase of 2,650 MM tall, the GSC Emzoom snugs perfectly in the subcompact (B) SUV crossover segment, poised to go against the likes of the Proton X50, Chery Omoda 5, and many more.
On-board equipment is also not too shabby for this B-segment SUV, as the GS3 Emzoom comes standard with several tech bits like the dual 10.25-inch displays that support both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a surround-view camera system, an electronic parking brake (EPB), automatic climate control, and many more. Also present here are the leatherette-wrapped seats with a two-tone blue and black colourway, a leather steering wheel with multiple controls and functions, and a crystal electronic gear shifter.
Similar to the exterior, the top-spec GS3 Emzoom Premium R also comes with several extra pieces of equipment inside, which include the 6-way power adjustable driver’s seat, a wireless charging pad, front USB-C ports, and a multi-colour ambient lighting system. Elsewhere, the GS3 Emzoom’s boot space measures 341 litres as standard, which can be further expanded to 1,271 litres once the rear seats are folded down.

Both variants of the GS3 Emzoom are powered by the same 1.5-litre 4-cyl turbocharged engine.
Regardless of variants, all the GS3 Emzoom CBU in Malaysia are exclusively powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cyl turbocharged engine rated at 174 HP and 270 NM, making it the torquiest in the segment. Mated to a seven-speed DCT gearbox and a front-wheel drive (FWD) drivetrain setup, the GS3 Emzoom can go from nought to 100 KM/H in eight seconds.
Fuel economy is also quite decent for the GS3 Emzoom, with said four-pot turbocharged mill boasting a claimed average fuel consumption rate of 5.9 litres per 100 KM.
Safety-wise, the fully-imported GAC GS3 Emzoom comes with a host of active and passive safety features. Focusing on the former, the GS3 Emzoom comes standard with ADAS functions like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Traffic Sign Recognition System (TSR), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Intelligent Speed Limit Control (ISLC), High-Beam Assist (HBA), and Fusion Automatic Parking Assist (FAPA) – the latter two only available in the top-spec Premium R variant.

Positioned as a B-segment SUV crossover, the all-new GAC GS3 Emzoom is poised to go against the likes of the Chery Omoda 5, Proton X50, and many more.
Fully-imported (CBU) from China, the all-new, fully-imported GAC GS3 Emzoom is now available for purchase, starting at RM118,900 for the baseline Exclusive variant, while the range-topping Premium R model is capped at RM128,900.

Both variants come standard with a special launch package for the first 2,000 buyers, which includes a 7-year or 180,000 KM engine and powertrain warranty on top of the 5-year or 150,000 KM standard vehicle warranty, plus three times free scheduled service maintenance that includes labours, parts, and lubricants. On top of that, they are also entitled to a special GAC Smart Watch Key, which functions like the original key fob with the additional connectivity features of a smart watch.
