Pahang Govt. Identifies Two R&R Locations Along The LTU Expressway

The Pahang government has earmarked two potential sites along the Lingkaran Tengah Utama (LTU) Expressway for the construction of R&R areas. These sites, identified from Bentong to Raub and Kampung Kechau Tui in Lipis, aim to enhance convenience and comfort for road users.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail highlighted that the planning process involves several entities. Included are the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), Public Works Department, Works Ministry, district councils, and the state government, due to land acquisition.

Wan further added that although he hopes the R&R can be ready fast, he understands that the entire process would require multi-level approvals from relevant agencies and ministries.
Meanwhile, with regards to the management of the R&R areas, Wan noted that at the moment this decision would depend entirely on the relevant authorities, particularly LLM. Furthermore, he clarified that there are no immediate plans to implement tolls on the LTU.

As a result of the lack of R&Rs along the LTU, issues of littering has been prevalent and efforts to mitigate the issue have been taken by installing rubbish bins at hotspots, especially during festive periods. He urged motorists to be responsible and dispose of waste properly while the government strives to fulfil its commitment to providing adequate facilities, including rest stops in due time.
