Bentley Phases Out Continental And Flying Spur V8, Final Deliveries In June

Bentley's signature 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo mill as seen in the Continental GT S. Continental GT, GTC, and Flying Spur models primed with this mill are being phased out.
The famed Flying-B marque announced earlier today that it has begun phasing out Continental and Flying Spur models powered by its current signature 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo mill. According to Bentley’s press release, this is set to take affect across the entire region – Malaysia included.
Other markets affected by this announcement include Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Taiwan. For now, only the Continental and Flying Spur models were noted in this phase-out, not the Bentayga SUV, which continues to be available… for now.

Production and deliveries of existing orders for V8-engined version of the Continental and Flying Spur will be completed by next month (June) says the Crewe-based Flying-B marque.
The move follows up from the marque’s decision to retire its iconic 6.0-litre W12 twin-turbo mill this year. Bentley had also recently revealed its new Ultra Performance Hybrid V8 powerplant that’s poised to succeed the current V8 mill mentioned, thus aligning with its electrification strategy.
With that, the marque confirmed via local brand custodians Bentley Kuala Lumpur (Wearnes Quest Sdn Bhd) that production and deliveries of remaining orders for the current-generation Continental and Flying Spur V8 models will be completed by next month – June.

Bentley notes that it has shifted over 53,000 units of the V8-engined Continental and Flying Spur models to date. Pictured in the arguably the quickest of the lot - the Continental GT S.
This is perhaps the last call for any keen prospects to secure a current-gen Bentley Continental GT, Continental GTC, and Flying Spur with a V8 heart. Apart from new orders mentioned, the marque also noted some existing examples remain available through retailer stocks and transport pipelines.
To date, Bentley has successfully produced over 53,000 units of the V8-powered Continental GT, Continental GTC, and Flying Spur. As a refresher, models primed with this V8 mill offer up 542 HP and 770 NM, and the quickest of the lot – i.e. Continental GT S – sees 0-100 KM/H sprints done 3.9 secs.

Both the new fourth-gen Continental GT and Ultra Performance Hybrid powerplant were teased and revealed respectively earlier this month, the latter promising up to 771 HP and 1,000 NM plus 80 KM EV-range for the former.
Both these V8 and W12 mills will soon be succeeded by the new Ultra Performance Hybrid powerplant mentioned. Revealed earlier this month, it promises up to 771 HP and 1,000 NM outputs, not forgetting up to 80 KM of electric-only range.
Said new mill will debut in the upcoming new fourth-generation Bentley Continental GT model that was also teased earlier this month. Bentley’s new staple GT coupe will be revealed in full sometime next month (June) as well ahead of planned global market introduction later this year.
