Bjak: Road Tax Renewal Service Is Optional, Now Free of Charge
Bjak reiterates that its road tax renewal service is only optional and is now available for free.
Following the official statement by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) yesterday, online auto insurance service provider Bjak has responded with a statement clarifying that road tax renewal services provided by the firm are only optional for its customers, with the service now operational normally.
Said official statement continues with Bjak insisting that the firm’s primary service is to compare and provide auto vehicle insurance renewals, alongside its VIP package that includes services like roadside assistance, unlimited towing, and many more.
Prior to this free renewal campaign, Bjak and other service providers typically charge around RM3 to RM11 for their road tax renewal services.
As part of this clarification effort, Bjak is now offering its road tax renewal service for free to all its customers. The firm further states that while other companies typically charged rates between RM3 and RM11 for road tax renewal services, Bjak has now offered this service for free to all its customers, adding that it had previously absorbed any charges from official JPJ providers.
Furthermore, Bjak insisted that this free road tax renewal campaign is purely an initiative by the firm to add value for its customers who use the insurance renewal services and, in any way, is not related to any government mandate. The firm also acknowledged the issues raised by JPJ, adding that it is now actively working with the department to improve its services and directly address any feedback received from customers.
In case you missed it, JPJ’s official statement yesterday stated that Bjak had not been authorised by neither the department nor the Ministry of Transport to carry out any road tax renewal services, thus refuting the firm’s claims that it has been audited and approved by the JPJ. Said official statement also addressed complaints made by customers regarding road tax renewal services carried out by Bjak that were not reflected in their vehicles’ road tax validity period, as well as the additional charges imposed by the firm for said services.
