Execs from Huawei Malaysia, Sunway Group, and ChargeSini signing the tri-party MoU to collaborate at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024 (MAS 2024) last weekend.

Local EV charging solutions firm ChargeSini (ChargeHere EV Solution Sdn Bhd), together with Sunway Group and Huawei Technologies (Huawei Malaysia), formally inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the recently concluded Malaysia Autoshow 2024 (MAS 2024) exposition.

Through this tri-party agreement, each parties collectively seek to leverage on each other’s strengths and expertise towards accelerating the development of the local EV charging infrastructure.

Present to sign the agreement at MAS 2024 last weekend were ChargeSini’s founder and CEO James Goh, Sunway Trading and Manufacturing CEO Yeoh Yuen Chee, and Huawei Malaysia Vice President of Digital Power Business Department Chong Chern Peng.

The MoU signing ceremony took place at MAEPS, Serdang, where the Malaysia Autoshow 2024 (MAS 2024) expo was hosted by MARii from May 22 to May 26.

As iterated in this agreement, ChargeSini, one of Malaysia’s leading EV charging solutions providers, will be charged with procuring, installing, and operating EV charging stations located strategically across Sunway’s integrated townships and developments nationwide.

At the same time, Huawei will serve as the supporting technology advisor during this endeavour’s development process. Said tech giant will also grant after-sales service support for this venture too.

"ChargeSini is delighted to join forces with Huawei Malaysia and Sunway in this groundbreaking collaboration, a testament to our shared vision for a sustainable future,” expressed ChargeSini’s Goh shortly after the signing ceremony concluded at MAEPS, Serdang where MAS 2024 was held.

Through this agreement, ChargeSini will be charged with procuring, installing, and operating EV chargers strategically located in Sunway Group's integrated townships and developments nationwide. Huawei Malaysia will support this effort as both technology advisor and after-sales service provider.

“We are confident that this strategic partnership with Huawei Malaysia and ChargeSini will contribute to shaping a more sustainable and environmental-friendly future,” adds Yeoh who heads Sunway Group’s Sunway Trading and Manufacturing arm.

The latter exec also stressed that both the public and private sector have a role to play towards achieving Malaysia’s target of having 10,000 EV charging stations activated by 2025. “Sunway is committed to advancing the sustainable development agenda as well as to realise our aspiration of achieving net zero emissions by 2050,” added Yeoh further.

“With our strategic partnership with ChargeSini and Sunway, we aim to work together to further strengthen this position and accelerate the EV adoption in Malaysia via our charging solutions,” said Chong from Huawei Malaysia.
