Federal Road FT3210 Set to Complete in Mid-2026, Serving 52K Users
The Federal Road FT3210 upgrade project, which runs from Jalan Dato Alias to the Batu 9 intersection in Hulu Langat, is projected to be finished in mid-2026 and will serve 52,000 daily road users at the cost of RM123.66 million.
According to Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, the project, which was originally scheduled for completion in 2025, has been postponed due to land acquisition and utility relocation issues.
"The project aims to alleviate congestion and improve user comfort and safety, as the area grows and the current road from Hulu Langat to Kuala Lumpur can no longer handle the increasing traffic, particularly during peak hours," Nanta informed the press during the site visit.
The project, which began on August 6, 2021, entails upgrading the road from the Taman Suntex junction for one kilometre and another kilometre from the Batu 9 intersection to the Jalan Dato Alias intersection.
The current single two-lane road will be converted into a four-lane dual carriageway. A two-lane one-way flyover from Hulu Langat to Cheras will also be built, along with the replacement of the Sungai Sering Bridge.
During his visit, Nanta also examined locations along FT3210 that are frequently hit by flash floods. As a preventive measure, the minister has directed the Hulu Langat district Public Works Department (JKR) and local authorities to work with relevant agencies to solve soil erosion and clean sewer outlets at these places.
Nanta also stated that the Hulu Langat JKR has applied for a road maintenance estimate for 2024, with the goal of upgrading the drainage system at an anticipated cost of RM2 million. As of May, the Works Ministry had authorised RM18.36 million under the APJ for the Hulu Langat JKR to execute road repair works.
