GWM Tank 300 Set For Launch And First Deliveries In July
Previewed twice earlier this year, the GWM Tank 300 premium 4x4 lifestyle SUV is now a step closer towards being officially launched in Malaysia.
Great Wall Motor (GWM) Malaysia is a step closer towards officially launching GWM Tank 300 premium lifestyle 4x4 SUV offering locally. The firm had previewed it earlier this year and again at the Malaysia Auto Show 2024 where it opened early bookings at an estimated RM250,000 price tag.
Earlier today, the firm issued a statement confirming plans to officially launch the model sometime in the middle of next month (July). Accompanying said announcement were a pair of photos showing two more brand new units arriving at port, signalling that more are on the way.
These images accompanied today's announcement issued by GWM Malaysia, likely signalling that more units are on their way.
Crucially, the firm also confirmed plans to start initial deliveries around the same time too, and there will be a special reward awaiting these early recipients.
Specifically for the first 300 customers of the GWM Tank 300, GWM Malaysia will offer a 5-year or 100,000 KM free maintenance package, a lifetime Engine & Transmission warranty with unlimited mileage (limited to first hand owners), as well as mystery rewards issued at the model’s launch event.
"We have great confidence in our products' quality, and we want our owners to feel equally confident, and assured about our commitment to them,” said Mike Cui An Qi, Managing Director of GWM Malaysia, regarding said early bird rewards. The exec further emphasised that delivering exceptional service and rewards has been a core practice of the GWM brand as means to maximise customer satisfaction and trust.

As a recap, GWM Malaysia is set to offer the Tank 300 in Malaysia through a singular fully imported (CBU) variant featuring a 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbocharged petrol heart rated at 220 HP and 380 NM. Said mill will be paired with both a ZF 8-speed automatic box and full-blown 4x4 transmission.
Through the latter, the Tank 300 will boast three 4x4 modes (2H, 4H, and 4L) and no five selectable terrain drive modes. Enabling its all-terrain abilities further too are the Tank 300’s 224 MM ground clearance, as well as its 33-degree approach and 34-degree departure angles.
Besides a richly kitted cabin, the GWM Tank 300 for Malaysia will come with a 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbo petrol mill mated with a ZF 8-speed automatic box and full-blown 4x4 driveline, the latter offering multiple modes.
On board, this rugged and capable off-roader is promises equally high levels of standard equipment and luxuries too. Highlights include dual 12.3-inch digital displays boasting both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, Nappa leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof, and more.
Prospects keen on becoming an early bird customer can still place their bookings for the GWM Tank 300 now online via its dedicated micro-page at GWM Malaysia’s official website – www.gwm.com.my/TANK300.html.
