MyTrip QR Code Border Crossing A Success - Over 13,846 Users, Zero Glitches
Since its launch on 1 June, the Komplex Sultan Abu Bakar (KSAB) CIQ Complex has seen 13,846 individuals using the MyTrip QR codes to travel through the CIQ without any glitches in the system.
This was verified by Immigration Director-General Datuk Ruslin Jusoh, who also reported that there has been a total of over 117,000 user downloads since launch. Additionally, a similar testing process is also ongoing for bus passenger routes at CIQ Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (BSI).
Ruslin further added that the department is in the final stages of refining the QR Code application requirements to ensure a smooth rollout as it goes through the three-month Proof of Concept (POC) trail phase.
He also went on to add that for the time being to facilitate the POC phase, the use of QR codes is restricted to only Malaysian citizens utilising bus and motorcycle services at both the checkpoints to ensure smooth operations.
The Star further reported that the QR code system for Malaysian travellers is received positively and users are opting in the trial system to expedite immigration clearance at the border crossings with Singapore.
The MyTrip application can be found embedded within the MySejahtera app which was made popular during the Covid-19 pandemic.
