Wuling EV's sole distributor in Thailand, EV Primus Co., Ltd., has launched the Wuling Binguo EV yesterday at the Central World shopping mall in Bangkok. Reservations opened after the launch, with an introductory price starting at THB 419,000 (RM 54,000). The first 1,000 units will come with promotional prices and packages.
Two models are being introduced to the Thai market: the Binguo EV AC, starting at THB 419,000 (RM 54,000) and the Binguo EV DC, starting at THB 449,000 (RM 58,000). Customers can upgrade either model to the ICON package for an additional THB 30,000 (RM 4,000), which includes free options worth more than THB 100,000 (RM 13,000). The ICON package offers extras such as Wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto, a 1080P DVR Camera, Passive Lifetime Warranty and a 7kW Wallbox home charger with installation.

The Wuling Binguo EV, a retro-classic 4-door hatchback, boasts over 15 multi-purpose storage compartments and a large 790-litre rear luggage compartment (when the seats are folded of course). It will be powered by a front-driven electric motor rated at 50 kW (68 HP) 150 NM, which allows a top speed of 120 km/h.
Both Wuling Binguo EV variants come with a single 31.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, offering a 333 KM NEDC range. The AC variant supports 6.6 kW AC charging, while the DC variant can also accept 50 kW DC charging.

Pitiya Thanadumrongsak, CEO of EV Primus Co., Ltd., emphasised that the company's marketing strategy focuses on product differentiation and unique design rather than price, which seems to reflect the ongoing price-slashing scandal probe involving BYD in Thailand.
He further added that since the brand's market entry in July 2023 with the Wuling Air EV, over 1,400 units have been sold, highlighting the unique design and good quality of the brand as the main driving force behind its decent sales numbers.

EV Primus, as the sole distributor, has so far established a network of over 40 showrooms and service centres and are collaborating with the brand principal SAIC-GM-WULING (SGMW) to set up a Wuling EV assembly plant in Thailand. The plant, now 90% ready, is set to begin operations this August, with a maximum production capacity of 10,000 units per year.
Shi Guoyong, GM of PT SGMW Indonesia, stated that SGMW places great importance on the Thai market. The company aims to not only sell cars but also transfer technology, assemble Wuling electric cars in Thailand, develop electric vehicle parts locally, and collaborate with EV Primus.
The company has set a sales target of 2,000 units for the Wuling Bingo EV this year.
