Road Transport Department (JPJ) Director-General Aedy Fadly Ramli welcomes the Prime Minister and the government’s initiative in taking positive steps towards adjusting salaries of civil servants in the country recently.

As a sign of appreciation and with a promise to improve service delivery, JPJ has announced an extension of operating hours at its service counters in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Johor and Penang, by one (1) hour effective Monday, 19 Aug (tomorrow).

This move also aims to better accommodate JPJ's  growing number of customers. The extended hours will apply on every Monday and Friday with the exception of Johor which will be on Sundays and Thursdays. These specific days have been identified as high-traffic days with a significant influx of customers.

In addition to the extended hours, JPJ will also be forming a Governance Committee aimed at enhancing the quality of services rendered, particularly on service-counter. This committee will be responsible to continuously monitor, review and improve the department's services level to meet the evolving customer needs.

Aedy Fadly also emphasised JPJ's commitment to delivering top-notch services, ensuring public comfort and well-being.

He further noted that JPJ’s efforts to improve service rendered is in line with the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's call for improvements, as highlighted during the recent Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA) announcement ceremony.

However, having said that, one comment on JPJ’s Facebook page caught our attention which pretty much echoes a broader public sentiment. The comment suggested that instead of focusing solely on extending hours, JPJ and other government departments serve the public better by first ensuring that all service counters are consistently open to the public.
