Launched: GAC GS3 Emzoom CKD – Premium R Variant Only, Now At RM126,800

The GAC GS3 Emzoom compact crossover launched by WTCA earlier this year is now a fully localised (CKD) product, and it sees some changes to the model's line-up.
WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd (WTCA), exclusive distributors of the GAC and AION brands, announced today that its first offering launched earlier this year, the GAC GS3 Emzoom compact crossover, has been fully localised (CKD) for the first time in ASEAN here in Malaysia.
The model is assembled by WTCA at its dedicated GAC brand assembly plant in Segambut since May 11 this year, and it’s open for purchase at authorised GAC showrooms and dealerships starting today (Aug 10). With localisation comes several changes to note.

The GAC GS3 Emzoom CKD is available only in range-topping Premium R guise for now, and it enjoys a RM2,100 price drop to retail at RM126,800.
Firstly, the GS3 Emzoom CKD is available in range-topping Premium R variant only for now. Next, CKD status also sees said model benefitting with a RM2,100 drop in price, retailing at RM126,800 now. As a refresher, the fully imported (CBU) version was launched at RM128,900.
WTCA adds that it has stopped accepting bookings for the CBU model mentioned. The firm says customers with existing CBU bookings can elect to convert their bookings to the new CKD model, and those doing so benefit with a complimentary tinting service worth RM2,100.
The same complimentary tinting reward is also offered by WTCA to customers experiencing waiting periods that exceed three months.

Apart from two newly added paintjob options, CariCarz.com has been reliably informed there are no changes in specifications in this CKD model from its CBU version launched prior.
As for changes to the crossover itself, CariCarz.com was reliably informed that the specifications of this CKD model remain the same as the CBU model launched prior. The only exception here is the two new paintjob options added, bringing its total to five hues altogether.
Also unchanged are the early bird perks announced at launch. As a refresher, WTCA is rewarding the first 2,000 GAC GS3 Emzoom customers with a complimentary smartwatch to match with the crossover, and an extended 7-year or 180,000 KM engine and powertrain warranty.
The added benefits mentioned comes on top of WTCA’s standard offer of a 5-year or 150,000 KM warranty plus the choice between 1-year free service or three complimentary maintenance sessions.
“We are excited to announce that all CBU GAC GS3 Emzoom units have been fully sold out. Looking ahead, we anticipate that the CKD GAC GS3 Emzoom will be well received,” expressed Tan Keng Meng, CEO of WTCA following the CKD model’s launch today.

Unchanged too are the early bird benefits announced at launch by WTCA which includes a complimentary smartwatch and extended 7-year or 180,000 KM engine and drivetrain warranty for the first 2,000 customers.
Arriving back in May, the GAC GS3 Emzoom entered the burgeoning local B-segment crossover SUVs space with a distinctively sharp yet fresh styling, a turbocharged 1.5-litre 4-cyl powertrain, and a few novelties including several segment firsts such as an active sports exhaust.
Critically, the GS3 Emzoom also arrived fully laden with a barrage of Active Driver Asistance System (ADAS) features as standard, all promising high-levels of semi-autonomous driving including autonomous parking abilities.
