The Proton e.MAS 7 EV *MIGHT* Look Like This

The Proton e.MAS 7 EV crossover SUV previewed yesterday, albeit in camouflaged exterior and its cabin locked tightly away from prying eyes.
By now, we’re certain you’re up to speed about national carmaker Proton’s upcoming first electric vehicle (EV) offering revealed yesterday. Christened as the Proton e.MAS 7, an early prototype was previewed, but it wore an exterior camouflage and its cabin locked tightly.
Whilst a peek inside remains an unfulfilled desire, we now have a pretty good idea at how the e.MAS 7 might look like once it sheds its camouflage later this year thanks to renowned local digital automotive render artist Theophilus Chin (@Theottle).
Apart from confirming the new e.MAS emblem, Proton were coy about its plans on restyling the e.MAS 7 to set it apart from its Geely Galaxy E5 twin. Taking inspiration from Proton’s current Geely-based models, Chin’s render is perhaps close to how many are imagining this.

Chin (@Theottle) takes on a restraint approach in this latest render of the e.MAS 7, electing to uncover as much as possible from the camouflaged prototype.
Up front, we can see Chin has retained much of the key elements hidden behind the prototype’s camouflage, namely its headlights, slim lower intake grille, as well as the black plastic mouldings primed on each side of the front bumper.
At the rear, Chin elected for the same restraint approach, giving us a much clearer look at the e.MAS 7’s derriere sans camouflage yet again. Now, we’re able to see the lower bumper’s inner black cladding element that’s flanked by two grey trim panels on each side.
As for the rolling stock, Chin elected to graft the Geely Galaxy E5’s alloy wheels here, the only difference being the e.MAS brand emblems in the centre caps. Lastly, the red hue Chin chose is telling too – it’s close to the usual scarlet shade used by both Proton and Geely.

The wheels were grafted straight from the Geely Galaxy E5, says Chin. In this red hue reimagined by the artist, we now have a much clearer look at the e.MAS 7's rear-end as well.
Overall, it’s arguably safe to say that Chin has helped many pierce the veil, and we reckon many keen prospects are already liking this view. However, it’s still too early to tell, and we reckon some things will change with the e.MAS 7’s styling once it enters the market later this year.
For now though, this is a very convincing ‘preview’ to say the least. Wouldn’t you agree? Get to know the Proton e.MAS 7 EV in greater depth through our initial preview report of it by clicking these blue words…
