Chery Fulwin E05 Unveiled as Brand’s New Sleek EV Saloon

Unveiled at Chengdu Auto Show 2024 this week is the Chery Fulwin E05—the brand’s new all-electric saloon model.
Besides Xpeng and Zeekr, Chery has also taken the centre stage at the ongoing Chengdu Auto Show 2024 to unveil its latest creation, known as the Chery Fulwin E05. This sleek EV saloon is part of the automaker’s Fulwin (or Fengyun in Chinese) vehicle series, which currently includes several plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models like the record-breaking Fulwin T10 PHEV SUV and many more.
Unlike the T10 and many other models in the Fulwin series, the new E05 comes in either battery EV (BEV) or range-extender EV (REEV) forms. Unfortunately, the Wuhu-based automaker has yet to unveil any specifications regarding the powertrain options for this sleek EV saloon, so your guesses are just as good as ours at this point.

Focusing on the visuals for now, the Fulwin E05 stood as a sporty and sleek EV saloon, featuring several interesting design features that help to set it apart from other Chery EV models of late. For starters, the E05 gets an enclosed front face featuring sharp LED headlights, as well as a pair of side air vents on the lower part of the front bumper. Also present at the front is a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, which hints at the high levels of semi-autonomous driving capabilities this car has to offer.

From the side, the Fulwin E05 gets a pretty sporty three-box saloon body style, with the sportiness accentuated by its sleek, fastback-style roofline with frameless doors. Also present here are the flushed door handles, while the car rolls on a set of 20-inch alloy wheels with unique triangular-shaped spokes. While no official numbers were provided by the automaker, CarNewsChina reports that the E05 measures around 4,800 MM in length and has a wheelbase of up to 2,900 MM.

At the rear, the Fulwin E05 sports a through-style LED taillight design, with the Fulwin lettering placed at the centre of the tailgate. From here, you can also notice that the car’s panoramic glass roof goes all the way to the rear, as the rear windscreen of the car is part of the expansive glass roof itself.

On board, the Fulwin E05 gets a pretty minimalist cabin design that is laced with several tech and comfort amenities. Crowned at the centre of its dual-level front dash is a massive central infotainment screen, while the A/C vents are hidden within the dash itself. Also present here are the two-spoke steering wheel with a smaller digital instrument cluster hiding beneath it, a wireless charging tray on the central console, and many more.
Although not shown in these official images, Chery claims that the car will come with a built-in refrigerator, while its multi-colour ambient lighting system is tied down with the climate control to offer four selectable modes for the whole cabin.

As of writing, Chery has yet to unveil neither the powertrain specs nor the detailed pricing for its new Fulwin E05 EV saloon.
Although no prices or detailed powertrain specs were unveiled, CarNewsChina reports that the all-new Chery Fulwin E05 is slated to be priced at around the CNY 150,000 (RM90,000 approximately) mark, which is quite reasonable for such a futuristic-looking EV laden with tech amenities. We expect to know more about the car’s exact powertrain specs and prices as we get closer to its actual launch date, which will take place some time in the future…
