JPJ Recall Notice – Mercedes-Benz & Toyota Models Affected

JPJ has issued a new product recall notice for Sept 2024, covering several models from Mercedes-Benz and Toyota.
The Malaysian Road Transport Department (JPJ) has issued a new product recall notice this month, covering several models from both Mercedes-Benz and Toyota. This is the third time the government agency has put up such a notice this year, with the previous two taking place in Mar and June 2024, respectively.
A total of 31 Mercedes-Benz models are affected by this recent product recall notice.
Announced via JPJ’s official Facebook page, the third recall series for 2024 covers a total of 31 models from Mercedes-Benz and one model from Toyota. Starting with the former, the recall covers several core Mercedes models such as the A-class (A 200, A 250, A 250 4Matic), B-class (B 200), CLA-class (CLA 200 Coupe, CLA 250 Coupe), GLA (GLA 200, GLA 250, GLA 250 4Matic), GLB (GLB 200, GLB 250 4Matic), GLE (GLE 450 4Matic), and GLS (GLS 450 4Matic, Maybach GLS 600 4Matic).
Both the Mercedes-AMG A45 S 4Matic (left) & AMG GLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe (right) are among the few AMG models affected by this recall.
On top of that, several AMG models are also affected by this recall. This includes the AMG A45 S 4Matic, AMG CLA 45 S 4Matic, AMG CLA 45 S 4Matic+ Coupe, AMG A35 4Matic, GLA 45 S 4Matic+, AMG GLB 35 4Matic, AMG GLE 53 4Matic+, and AMG GLE 63 4Matic+.

As for their electric vehicles (EVs), affected models are the EQA 240, EQB 350 4Matic, EQE 350+, EQE 500 4Matic, and EQS 580 4Matic, as well as two AMG EQ models—the AMG EQE 53 4Matic and the AMG EQS 53 4Matic.
Owners of these affected Mercedes-Benz models are advised to contact any authorised Mercedes-Benz dealers nearby or visit Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s recall webpage for more information.
Moving on to Toyota, the sole model affected by this latest recall is the Toyota Vios (AC100), with a total of 24,345 units manufactured from Mar 2023 to Feb 2024 set to be recalled. Owners of the Toyota Vios models are advised to contact their sales advisors or any nearby UMW Toyota dealers, or visit their official website for more information.
