Stellantis and Petronas Launch Selenia SUSTAINera Lubricants
Stellantis N.V., in collaboration with Petronas Lubricants International (PLI), has launched the co-branded Selenia SUSTAINera engine oils, made from recycled base oils. This eco-friendly range reduces carbon emissions while maintaining top engine performance.
Selenia SUSTAINera is engineered using advanced technology, with 30% of its formulation derived from recycled materials. According to both companies, the packaging for this product lineup is equally eco-friendly, consisting of 50% recycled plastic and being 100% recyclable. Despite the use of recycled content, the engine oils provide the same level of protection and performance as those made from virgin base oils.
Petronas Lubricants International CEO, Hezlinn Idris, emphasised that this collaboration unites both entities' vision for sustainable mobility through quality offering. Idris also added that turning waste into valuable products advances PLI’s Net Zero Carbon Emission goals.
Meanwhile, Alison Jones, Stellantis’ Senior VP of Circular Economy, highlighted that Selenia SUSTAINera expands the b RECYCLE SUSTAINera range and reinforces Stellantis’ commitment to waste reduction and environmental sustainability.
Available in three viscosities, Selenia SUSTAINera WR Pure Energy 5W-30, Selenia SUSTAINera K Pure Energy 5W-40, and Selenia SUSTAINera Multipower Gas 5W-40, Selenia SUSTAINera is designed for Euro 5 engines and caters to brands like Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, and Jeep. The partners also plan to expand their recycled product offerings soon.
Following the launch of Selenia SUSTAINera engine oils, Stellantis and PLI are already planning to expand their range of recycled products in the near future. This ongoing collaboration demonstrates both companies’ dedication to sustainability and innovation in the automotive industry.
