Proton eMas has extended its dealership network to 36 locations while organising a special tour at Geely’s R&D centre in China.

National automaker Proton, via its new energy subsidiary PRO-NET, has announced the extension of its Proton eMas dealership network. The initial 17 dealerships announced during the brand’s inception back in June this year have now been extended to 36 locations, which covers several new areas, including East Malaysia.

This dealership network expansion was supplemented by a special visit to the Geely Research Institute (GRI) in Hangzhou, China, where over 40 selected Malaysian dealer executives and principals were invited. This three-day trip was intended to give Proton eMas dealers first-hand experience about the operations of Geely’s premium EV dealerships and, more importantly, sampling a few Geely EV models at the same time.

PRO-NET CEO Zhang Qiang

“Since the launch of the Proton eMas brand in June, the pace of development ahead of our first model launch has been breathtaking. The addition of 19 new dealerships to our ecosystem shows the enthusiasm surrounding the impending arrival of PROTON’s first EV, while the enthusiastic response received from our dealer principals who participated in the Geely tour has been overwhelming,” said Zhang Qiang, CEO of PRO-NET.

During this special trip, the group also visited the Vehicle Validation Centre and New Energy Validation Centre at GRI to observe how Geely conducts its pre-production testing, evaluation, and validation for manufacturing and technology. Not to forget, the group was also brought to visit several premium dealerships under Geely’s extensive portfolio as a bid to benchmark the high standards and practices conducted by these dealers.

Back to the Proton eMas dealer network, this recent expansion marks an important step for the national automaker’s EV arm to create an extensive network of customer service touch points across all regions in Malaysia, which underscores the brand’s commitment in providing the most comprehensive support to their future customers.

With that being said, PRO-NET is still actively seeking applications from interested businesses keen to join this growing Proton eMas network, where interested parties can reach PRO-NET directly and apply by emailing Zhaole@proton.com or affendyk@proton.com.
