EV Price War - GWM ORA Good Cat Prices Slashed By RM26,000!

The EV price war is in full swing now in Malaysia. This week, GWM Malaysia announced that it had re-priced its ORA Good Cat offering, slashing its prices by RM26,000.

This now sees said EV in base 400 Pro guise commanding a new RM113,800 starting price figure. The higher-end 500 Ultra variant, on the other hand, now commands a new RM143,800 starting price too.

This effort was likely borne as a response against what rivals Chery Malaysia and BYD SD Motors recently did. The former launched its new Chery Omoda E5 EV SUV offering priced at RM146,800, and the latter offered a RM20,000 discount scheme for its Atto 3 EV SUV 2023MY stocks.

Moreover, GWM Malaysia elected to enhance the warranty scheme for the ORA Good Cat too. The firm now offers both variants with a 5-year 150,000 KM vehicle warranty, plus separate 8-year or 180,000 KM warranties for the EV battery, drive motor, and control unit.

As a gesture of appreciation to earlier buyers of the ORA Good Cat, GWM Malaysia will also offer an additional 2-year or 150,000 KM vehicle warranty, as well as an extra 5-year or 75,000 KM free maintenance, on top of the last completed service interval.

For reference, the GWM ORA Good Cat first launched back in Nov 2022 where it was priced at RM139,800 (400 Pro) and RM169,800 (500 Pro).
