100,000th Geely Galaxy E5 Rolls Off Production Line In China

The Geely Galaxy E5 recently reached a production milestone in China where its 100,000th unit just rolled off its production line less than a year since its Aug 2024 debut.
According to the often-reliable CarNewsChina portal, Chinese automaking giants Geely saw its new Galaxy E5 electric crossover model reach a significant milestone this week. That’s because production of said electric vehicle (EV) has reached its 100,000th units mark in China.
First launched in China back in Aug last year, Geely also notes that it has delivered a total of 77,685 units of the Galaxy E5 throughout 2024. This puts said EV crossover offering as the fastest A-class EV SUV to achieve said record, claims Geely.
Geely also highlighted that since launch, deliveries totalled at over 40,000 units in the first 85 days, over 50,000 units in 100 days, and over 60,000 units in 119 days. Altogether, this pace sees an average monthly sales total of 1,500 units.

Geely notes that sales of the new Galaxy E5 EV crossover pictured is averaging at about 1,500 units monthly.
Though these figures are impressive, it’s unclear if it includes the model’s re-badged Proton e.MAS 7 version here in Malaysia too –we presume it does. Sales of said right-hand drive (RHD) twin have been promising of late, surpassing 2,500 bookings since its Dec 2024 launch.
As a refresher, the Geely Galaxy E5 – and its RHD Proton-badged twin mentioned – underpins a new platform housing an also-new and compact 12-in-1 e-motor unit outputting 215 HP and 320 NM. Juicing said mill is Geely’s new Aegis battery pack in either 49.45 kWh or 60.22 kWh sizes.
Altogether, this setup enables 0-100 KM/H sprints in just 6.9 secs. And whilst the Chinese market original boasts a CLTC-rated max range of 530 KM at its highest, the e.MAS 7 has a WLTP-rated max range figure of up to 410 KM instead.

Proton e.MAS 7 -the Geely Galaxy E5's RHD twin that's marketed here in Malaysia.
On board, both employ Geely’s new GEEA 3.0 architecture that supports high-speed over-the-air (OTA) updates and Artificial Intelligence generated content (AIGC). Additionally, this crossover’s cabin is laced with the Flyme Auto smart cockpit system that’s powered by the Dragon Eagle-1 automotive-grade 7nm system-on-chip (SoC) chipset.
As for price, the Geely Galaxy E5 is marketed in China across five guises tagged between RMB109,800 and RMB145,800 (approx. RM66,935 and RM88,873).
Locally, the e.MAS 7 version is instead priced at RM109,800 (Prime) and RM123,800 (Premium). However, an on-going promotion sees the first 6,000 buyers benefit with a RM4,000 rebate, thus bringing said prices down to RM105,800 and RM119,800 respectively.
