Federal Road Speed Limit At 80KM/H From 28 Jan To 2 Feb

Works Minister, YB Nanta Linggi shared earlier today that the government will implement Ops Bersepadu, a joint operation by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Road Transport Department (JPJ), Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) and the Highway Authority (LLM) for six days from 28 Jan to 2 Feb 2025.
This exercise is aimed to help ensure smooth traffic flow during the 2025 Chinese New Year celebrations.
A key measure during this operation is the reduction of the speed limit on all Federal Roads from 90 KM/H to 80 KM/H throughout this period in order to minimize road accident risks and ensure the safety of road users.

In addition, non-critical road construction and maintenance work will be temporarily halted, while emergency work that is necessary for safety will be planned carefully to avoid disrupting traffic flow.
The minister also reminded all road users to ensure they are fully prepared before travelling by ensuring their vehicles are in good condition and ensuring sufficient balances in toll payment cards such as Touch N Go and RFID.
The Work Ministry hopes the reduced speed limits and other safety measures placed will help ensure a safer and smoother journey for all those travelling.
