Zeekr X Tops Euro NCAP Safety with 5-Star Rating

The Zeekr X, a compact electric SUV from the Chinese premium EV marque Zeekr, has achieved an impressive 5-star safety rating in the recent 2024 Euro NCAP crash tests. This accomplishment firmly establishes the X as the best in class EV to be tested under this safety rating in 2024.

In Adult Occupant Protection, the Zeekr X scored 91%, with excellent frontal and lateral impact results. Advanced features, including a center airbag, further mitigate injuries during far-side impacts, while whiplash protection for both front and rear passengers was rated as "Good."

For Child Occupant Protection, the Zeekr X achieved an impressive 90%. The vehicle was awarded maximum points for its crash performance in protecting child occupants. It is equipped with Isofix and i-Size seating positions, ensuring proper installation of child restraints. Additionally, the Zeekr X includes a child presence detection system, which issues a warning if a child is left unattended in the car.
In the Vulnerable Road Users (VRU) Protection category, the Zeekr X earned an 84% score, thanks to its autonomous emergency braking system and cyclist "dooring" prevention. Pedestrian head protection was generally good, with some minor weaknesses near the windshield.

In the Safety Assist category, the Zeekr X scored 83%, offering advanced features like lane-keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, and a driver monitoring system for fatigue and distractions. The vehicle’s speed assistance system ensures compliance with local speed limits, while a comprehensive seatbelt reminder system is standard for all seating positions.

Beyond its crash performance, the Zeekr X incorporates features that enhance real-world safety which include an eCall emergency alert system, multi-collision braking, and water submergence compliance ensuring the functionality of doors and windows in emergencies. Furthermore, its pedestrian-friendly design minimizes injury risks during collisions.
The Zeekr X which was recently launched in Malaysia is available in two variants, the single-motor 268HP X Premium priced at RM155,800 and dual-motor 422HP X Flagship at RM172,800.
