EPMB Partners with Sanly & Jujin to Boost Proton Saga MC3 Production

EP Manufacturing Bhd (EPMB) has teamed up with Sanly China and Jujin China in a strategic move to enhance local production of key automotive components for the Proton Saga MC3.
Through its subsidiary, PEPS-JV (M) Sdn Bhd, EPMB has signed a joint venture with Sanly China to localize the production of front corner modules, sub-frame modules and rear axle assemblies for the Proton Saga MC3.
The agreement will bring Sanly’s advanced metalworking expertise into EPMB’s Batang Kali operations, strengthening the supply chain and making it more efficient.

Additionally, by tapping into Sanly’s technology, EPMB aims to streamline costs and offer better pricing while maintaining the quality required for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
EPMB’s Executive Director, Aidan Hamidon, called the partnership a major step forward, combining Sanly’s precision engineering with EPMB’s manufacturing know-how to raise the bar for automotive component production.
“This partnership isn’t just about increasing capacity — it’s about redefining how we manufacture. We’re committed to delivering top-tier quality while ensuring cost efficiency for our clients,” he said.

In addition to the Sanly collaboration, EPMB is also joining forces with Jujin China to localize the production of Proton car seats. The two companies have built a strong relationship over the years, sharing a common drive for innovation and quality.
By integrating Jujin’s seat design expertise with EPMB’s manufacturing capabilities, the partnership is expected to improve efficiency, cut costs and ensure long-term profitability. Additionally, plans are already underway to expand the collaboration to other Proton models and possibly even Geely vehicles, opening new market opportunities for EPMB.

Hamidon emphasized that this initiative goes beyond just manufacturing — it’s about transforming the company’s approach to business.
“We can’t keep producing high-quality parts while squeezing our margins. This joint venture allows us to scale up production, lower costs, and build a more sustainable business model,” he said.
With established connections to Geely and other Chinese OEMs, EPMB’s partnerships with Sanly and Jujin not only strengthen its role in Proton’s supply chain but also create new opportunities for working with global manufacturers and expanding into export markets.
Both this collaboration also aligns with MITI and MIDA’s call for strategic initiatives in technology transfer to enhance local manufacturing capabilities.
