2024 Chery Omoda E5 Gets RM27K Rebate – Now From RM119K
The 2024 MY Chery Omoda E5 EV gets a massive rebate worth up to RM27,000, thus bringing its price down to only RM119,818.
Following the footsteps of BYD Malaysia in re-speccing the Atto 3, now it's Chery’s turn to join the local EV price war, as the Wuhu-based automaker announced massive rebates for its sole EV model, the Chery Omoda E5. In conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri festive season, Chery Malaysia is offering the E5 with rebates worth up to RM27,000, thus bringing its retail price down to only RM119,818.
Still included with the discounted price is a comprehensive warranty package including a 7-year or 150,000 KM vehicle warranty, and an 8-year or 160,000 KM battery warranty with one-to-one battery replacement if the health dips below 70%.
This not only makes the E5 a lot cheaper than the Atto 3 Ultra, but also on-par with the special early bird price for the Proton e.MAS 7 Premium, which is now offered to the first 6,000 customers. Mind you, this massive rebate is only applicable to the 2024 units, meaning that cars manufactured this year are still slapped with its original launch price of RM146,818.
On top of the massive rebate, customers who purchase the 2024 units of the Omoda E5 are also entitled to a complimentary AC wallbox charger worth RM3,500, a free vehicle-to-load (V2L) adapter worth RM500, and a JomCharge charging credit worth RM1,000. Not to forget, Omoda E5 owners can also charge up their EVs for free at any Chery authorised dealerships.
As a refresher, the Omoda E5 is essentially an all-electric twin to Chery’s best-seller SUV, the Chery Omoda 5. Now locally-assembled (CKD) alongside its combustion twin, the E5 uses a single FWD motor setup rated at 201 HP (150 kW) and 340 NM, allowing it for a 0-100 KM/H sprint time of 7.2 seconds and a top speed of 172 KM/H.
Juice is provided by a 61-kWh LFP battery pack sourced from BYD, granting it up to 430 KM of WLTP range. Charging-wise, the Omoda E5 can accept DC charging at up to 80 kW, which can fill up the battery from 30-80% in 28 minutes. AC figure, on the other hand, is capped at only 9.9 kW, which is still faster than the Atto 3’s 7 kW on-board charger, but still not on par with the e.MAS 7 at 11 KW.
