Honda Malaysia Aims To Launch 3 BEVs By 2027, Starts With e:N1 This Year

At a media appreciation dinner hosted by the firm last night, Honda Malaysia detailed some of its key business plans for 2025.
We continue dissecting the new business plan detailed by Honda Malaysia last night. Besides immediate goals of launching three new offerings and increasing sales to 83,000 units this year, the H-marque also detailed plans to ramp up its line-up with new electric vehicles (EVs).
Specifically, Honda Malaysia will introduce at least three new battery electric vehicle (BEV) models over the next three years – a timeline spanning up to 2027 was detailed. Critically, this effort starts very soon as the firm plans to introduce its first EV this year in the form of the Honda e:N1.

The plan sees Honda Malaysia introduce three new BEV models over a three-year span (until 2027) starting with the e:N1 model this year.
Said BEV crossover was previewed locally for the second time last night – it was first shown during KLIMS 2024 back in Dec 2024. Initially, a launch within the first quarter (Q1) of this year (2025) was mulled. However, that doesn’t seem to be case anymore.
When quizzed, Honda Malaysia execs stopped short of stating a firm launch date, only confirming its market arrival by this year. They also skirted away from confirming if the model will be offered as a fully imported (CBU) model built in Thailand, or as a locally assembled (CKD) offering instead.

Previewed locally a second time last night, the Honda e:N1 is set for launch very soon, perhaps in the second quarter (Q2) just after the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivities.
Given the government’s seemingly firm plans to end tax incentives for CBU EVs by Dec 31, 2025, it is likely that Honda Malaysia will offer the e:N1 as a CBU model first before localising it via its CKD operation based in Pagoh, Melaka, ahead of said deadline.
A launch for the CBU version could happen as early as the second quarter (Q2) of this year, likely just after the upcoming Hari Raya Aidlfitri festivities, seems feasible. Should things pan out accordingly, we can then perhaps expect sales of the CKD version to follow up soon after.

Honda Malaysia also aims to increase sales in 2024 up to 83,000, and the upcoming Honda e:N1 is expected to contribute to which too.
Besides that, Honda Malaysia kept mum about the other two BEVs that’s set to follow up after the e:N1. Your guess about which models and their respective arrival times in the timeline stated, is as good as ours. If we had to speculate, it will perhaps be the ‘0 Series’ models that’s currently in development.
Of course, we can’t talk about (B)EVs without discussing charging. Honda Malaysia again skirted away from confirming plans of setting up its own EV charging eco system, but this is more or less certain. Expect an announcement and subsequent details for which to arise soon enough.
