Honda Malaysia Sets Sales Target of 83K Units for 2025, 3 New Models Launching
Honda Malaysia sets its sales target of 83,000 units for 2025, with three new models set to debut this year.
Honda Malaysia has announced its sales target for 2025, where the Japanese automaker is aiming to deliver a total of 83,000 units this year, or 10.6% market share of the total industry volume (TIV). Announced during the annual media gathering last night, the automaker also plans to launch at least three new models this year.
The 83,000-unit sales target set by Honda marks a modest 1.7% increase (or 1,400 units) over the 81,600 units delivered by the automaker last year, which has helped to retain its position as the number one non-national passenger vehicle segment for an 11th consecutive year.
According to outgoing Honda Malaysia managing director and CEO Hironobu Yoshimura, the ‘modest’ sales target set by the company is made after factoring in some challenges and hurdles in the coming year. With that being said, the company is still confident that both its pure combustion (ICE) and e:HEV hybrid lineups will continue to be relevant in our market.
Speaking of hybrids, Honda Malaysia also stated that over 30% of hybrids sold in Malaysia last year were Honda’s e:HEV-powered models, marking a 2% increase from the previous year. Given the strong performance of its hybrid models, Honda Malaysia is expecting growth in the adoption of the e:HEV models in the face of the upcoming implementation of the targeted subsidy for RON95 fuel.

As for the new models, Honda Malaysia is poised to launch three new models this year, with the first one being the recently facelifted Civic FE sedan back in Jan, followed by its first-ever all-electric product, the Honda e:N1, which was shown at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) late last year.
The facelifted Honda Vezel (HR-V) might be the third model to be launched this year.
As for the third model, a quick scan through Honda Malaysia’s current lineup will show that the only model that has yet to get a midlife update is the HR-V, with the facelifted version recently making its landfall in native Japan last year. Given that rival Toyota already launched the facelifted Corolla Cross during KLIMS last year, we can expect the updated HR-V to make its local debut soon.
