Launched: JAC T9 Diesel & EV Pick-Up Truck – RM119K & RM199K

The all-new JAC T9 diesel and EV pick-up range arrives in Malaysia, priced at RM119,888 and RM199,888, respectively.
Following its initial teaser last year, the JAC T9 diesel and EV pick-up truck range has officially made its local debut today. Distributed by Evolvelectric Motors, the double-cab, mid-sized pick-up truck duo is priced at RM119,888 for the diesel variant, while the fully electric version is tagged higher at RM199,888.

JAC T9 Diesel 4x4 pick-up truck
Starting with the diesel variant, it uses a 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbodiesel engine rated at 168 HP and 410 NM. All said power goes exclusively to all four wheels (4WD) via a ZF-sourced 8-speed automatic gearbox and a part-time BorgWarner 4WD system with an electronically-locking rear differential. Not to forget, four driving modes are available at the driver’s disposal—Normal, Eco, Sport, and Snow.

Customers can expect a pretty elaborate list of cabin and safety equipment for the T9 diesel, with the former comprising a 10.4-inch central infotainment screen that supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, multiple USB-C charging ports, a 50-watt wireless charger, a 64-colour ambient lighting system, a 360-degree camera view system, and many more.

As for the latter, the T9 diesel comes with Level 2 semi-autonomous driving capabilities, courtesy of a slew of active and passive safety features. Some ADAS functions primed here include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Front- (FCW) and Rear Collision Warning (RCW), Door Open Warning (DOW), Lane Change Assist (LCA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Traffic Jam Assist (TJA), and many more.

JAC T9 EV 4X4 pick-up truck
Moving on to the all-electric variant, the JAC T9 EV is the sole variant offered with a 4x4 drivetrain setup, courtesy of its dual-motor setup that produces a combined output of 308 HP and 516 NM. This dual-motor unit enables a respectable 0-100 KM/H sprint time of 8.4 seconds, although its V-max is capped at only 140 KM/H.

Juicing the T9 EV is a CATL-sourced LFP battery pack with a capacity of 88 kWh, offering a claimed WLTP range of 340 KM. As for charging, said LFP unit supports both AC 11 kW and DC 88 kW charging methods, with the latter seeing a 15-80% charge to be completed in 45 minutes.

Similarly, the T9 EV gets the same amenities and safety equipment as its diesel-powered twin, with the latter allowing both pick-up trucks to earn a five-star rating from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) crash test protocol—making them the only mid-sized pick-up truck in Malaysia to achieve said score.

Fully imported (CBU) from China, the all-new JAC T9 diesel pick-up truck is priced at RM119,888 on-the-road, with said price including both the 5-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty as well as the separate 8-year unlimited mileage engine warranty only for the first owner. Meanwhile, the JAC T9 EV variant is tagged higher at RM199,888 on-the-road sans insurance, with said price inclusive of a 6-year or 200,000 KM warranty for the battery.
Interested parties in these JAC T9 pick-up trucks can size them up firsthand at the 1Utama shopping mall, where the showcase is located on the ground floor of Highstreet (New Wing) from March 6 to 9, 2025.
Those who participated in the test drive session with the T9 from now until May 31, 2025, can stand a chance to win a free trip to Perth, Australia. Those who want to learn more about this competition or book their test drive slots can visit Evolvelectric Motors’ Facebook page.
